At the start of the full press in the 2nd half, indeed, the lead was cut from 22 to 14, but then we fixed it and dealt with it really well for the final 12 minutes. Lead back to 20 and pretty much stayed about there. We shredded it in that period.

It took us a bit, but we got it mostly figured out. You also have to remember that our best ball handler was on the bench with foul trouble most of the second half.

Plus full court pressing - while effective - is hard work and hard to sustain physically for 10-15 min. It's why most of the time teams can get a 20 pt lead down to 6 or 10 or 12 with a press, but they peter out and miss a few easy shots or have a couple of TOs of their own because of tired legs and give most of it back.

Back in the day when a 41 to 0 shellacking in the 3rd qtr was the norm and expected of all in the Big East besides Miami. O how I miss. Now we try to stay competitive against new entrants to FBS.

Love watching Catoor's defensive leg work. He really moves well laterally, rarely gets beat 1 on 1. He is so key to our defense.
Collins and Camden provided great minutes as well. Camden stuck to it after 3 misses and some support from teammates in the timeout after his 3rd miss. That was some good stuff. These guys are tight.

Yah, was trying to think about how we can stop Kehei Clark next time; would like to see Cattor handle Clark duties even if it means letting him bring the ball up and having Pedulla at more of a SG role

Last year, in Cassell, against loluva, Clark scored 2, yes that's right, count 'em, two points. IIRC he air balled an early shot. From that moment on the Cassell Guard was on him mercilessly with chants of "air ball, air ball" every time he touch the ball. And if he missed a shot, the noise in Cassell was deafening! It was reported (at least I heard) that his mom was upset with the way the fans treated him. This is what it will take to stop Kehei Clark. CASSELL GUARD will need to show up big time! Get in Clark's head, get in the whole teams head, be loud. Be the reason so many say that Cassell Coliseum is the hardest place to play in college basketball!!!
Clark's stat line in Cassell last year was:
32 minutes played, 1 - 9 FG, 0 - 5 3PT, 0 - 0 FT, 0 REB, 4 PF, 2 A, 2 TO, 0 BLK, 0 STL, 2 TP

It wasn't just the Cassell Guard, it was the entirety of Cassell chanting "Airball" by halfway through the game and it only got louder as the game went on. The sound of it reverberated and sunk into his mind.

Speaking of quicker than quick, in last nights women's game. The announcers kept blowing smoke about Valladay (UVA) being the fastest player in the ACC. On a fast break, Amore came from being and out ran the entire UVA team for a easy lay up. So much for the fastest player in the league being Valladay.

Cuse fans sitting near me were raging that Boeheim didn't switch to man-to-man or really ever seem to make any adjustments to the 2-3 defense (except at one point when they went to a 1-3-1 for awhile). I told them he looked like he was cruising to retirement lol.

We're a fucking bucket fam.
After tonight, I can see with Boeheim never wanted to come to Blacksburg in the Big East days. Didn't want to get a butt kicking! 😂
LET'S GO!!! 🦃🏀
HOKIES!!!
Shredded the orange zone... FAM!!!
The first half was a masterpiece by the hokies.
indeed
Username checks out....
Fam from out on the job, here in STX
Nice win for the good guys.
Lots of fun to watch offense - just wish we responded better to pressure

FAM! Suck it Boeheim!
The tastiest tears of all.
taste like fresh squeezed orange juice!
Just got home, great win, and I can't believe those refs the first 5 minutes of the second half.
FAM

FAM! 2 in a row!
To be three after the upset in Miami.
Fam...the announcer talking about the long neck Hokie Bird pecking him on the head when he played at Cassell.
Playing Cuse twice in a year is my nightmare. Have to boycott two games, glad we won this one but we shoulda won both.
Win For Chase
Fam.

I think if we flash lights in his eyes while he's ball handling that might help too.
Lazer pointers

what is 2 TP? like he crapped himself twice?
I hope he did. And I hope he does again.
TP = Total Points
Camden got multiple 50/50 balls and was really active. His best game so far.
Here's Joe Girard's stat line without Cattoor and with Cattoor. Total Shutdown
Min 38 : 27
FG 10-20 : 2-8
3PT 3-7 : 1-4
PTS 24 : 7
You are so right, his fork work is outstanding, his angles are precise, he fights through screens like a D.Tackle, and closes on shots like a missile.
But look, let's not get carried away Clark is another story. He's quicker than quick. Best we can do is try and limit his damage.
If there's one thing we need from an all-ACC shooting guard, it's outstanding fork work.

Yeah, I don't know if he even got out of his chair once during play...definitely felt like he had checked out
Had these Syracuse fans actually watched Syracuse play basketball in, say, the last couple of decades or so?
Lol- they aren't cuse fans. Beoheim never plays man. Never.
Im almost 52 years old. Beoheim go the HEAD coaching job at Syracuse when I was 4 . He's a whiny bully medicore coach. Retire already asshole.
He can keep coaching bad to mediocre teams all day. Making Orange Juice is fun.
The fruits were no match for the Hokies.
