Think the biggest potential concern with Crook was Recruiting ability, this is definitely a solid sign.
He does have connections to Ohio high schools from his time at Cincy. There's lots of guys in that state who are overlooked by OSU and may not have gone to Cincy because it wasn't P5, but it's possible that the coaches in that state plus western PA, northern Kentucky, & West Virginia really like him.
