WBB VS HOUSTON CHRISTIAN AT 6PM NOV 16

The Ladies play the Houston Christian Huskies tonight at 6 PM. The game is on ACCNx. These early games are supposed to be almost scrimmages against lower rated teams. That looks like the case tonight.

Houston Christian does have some taller players in Matadi and Butler; but they have not played much in the first two games. Mataldi is playing less than 10 mpg; Butler 6. And they have not contributed much. The Huskies are an international team with 2 girls from Northern Ireland, 2 from Sweden, 1 from Luxembourg, and 2 from Australia.

The group that plays the most minutes is not tall with three players at 5'10 or less and 2 six footers.

For comparison, here is the Hokies roster:

Statistics aren't worth much at this stage of the season, but here they are:

And I think that's about all I have to say about this game. Everyone should get a chance to play tonight unless they are taking a redshirt.

GO HOKIES!

Amoore and Kitley are both on the watch list for the Wooden Award. Tonight's game should help both their numbers.

Taking the kiddo tonight for his first Women's BBall game. Should be a good time. LETS GO!

(Lady) HOKIES!

According to the media report, they prefer to just be called Hokies.

I fully expect a bill tonight.

Rice scored 70 on them, and they are 254th in scoring at 60.3 ppg

We are 38th at 85 per.

The Hun School is up by Princeton near my wife's office. The Maguire Family must be seriously well set-up to have 2 daughters go there. Tried posting the image of the tuition table, but it is giving me problems. Just copying the table now:

MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY $45,200
UPPER SCHOOL DAY $50,300
UPPER SCHOOL BOARDING $73,700
ACADEMIC LEARNING SKILLS PROGRAM $19,300

I would like to see the Hokies pick one of these games and get Kitley a triple double. Get her 10 points and start looking for assists instead of shooting.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

10 blocks?

Or will Wenzel beat her to it?

Kitley is going to need to learn to pass if she wants to play at the next level. When she starts playing against players as tall or taller than she is every day, she's going to need to add passing to her skills.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

The pass from Kitley between her legs to Amoore behind her for the assist should be ESPN Top Ten

Offense no issue but surprised at the scoring for HCU. Came in thinking Hokies would keep them under 40 points.

Well damn, they still might.

check

Kenny must have got into them at the end of the quarter. Ladies have held HCU scoreless for the first 5 minutes of the second.

Cheers, we can watch some high quality ACC football now. What a terrible follow up to the weekend of Cassell.

Yet VT football is so intimidated there by those yellow seats, we can't get a fucking good play off, or hold pitt under 400 yards rushing.

How does your body support organic life when it's that salty all the time?

Play a clean game and beat Pitt up there ONCE without looking like a weak HS team and I'll shut up. ONCE.

That is embarrassing

Onward and upward

After making my snarky comment I actually did enjoy the late second quarter through the last minute of the game until the refs just went braindead and ruined it for everyone.

judging by that targeting hit, people beside the ref were in danger of becoming braindead as well.

Hmm, now this has me wondering, do refs practice targeting calls by executing perfect examples of targeting on each other during their preseason focus groups. That would really answer a lot of questions with how games are called

I guess programmable LED lighting doesn't help get fans in the seats. Maybe they can use that tech to project images of people in the stands.

^^^This is the kind of innovating thinking I come here for.

Suffren showing off on both ends and Strack having a solid game underneath. Really good to see the Freshmen putting up solid performances. Baker also on the board.

Well almost eight minutes holding them scoreless. Hokies now with the 3-1 advantage scoring.

Kenny just playing lineup roulette at this point. There have been about 15 different looks out there already.

I for one was loving it. He was throwing the kitchen sink at them and HCU couldn't stop it. The frustration on their players was epic as we blocked shots left and right.

Strack in double digits

Wenzel and Strack will be a great follow to Amoore and Kitley once their time is up

I see Wenzel more as the shooting guard with Suffren or incoming Lexi Blue at the point. Wenzel will replace King.

under 40

Yep 16 points through 10 and only 20 over next 30. Definitely locked them down.

Kitley and Strack combining for 42 and 14. Strack actually with more rebounds tonight than Kitley.

Strack almost played as much as Kitley, and it was hard for Kitley to get rebounds when everything went in or was crazy wild. I lost track of how many air balls or blocks HCU experienced.

Yeah not sure I can remember a game for either side with as many air balls as last night
