Pry-ssr Orange Guys 2023

  • Good game plan for the bye week. 2 days of "good on good", 2 days of recruiting, and R&R for those who needed it.
  • Syracuse has a good defensive front and especially aggressive RedZone defense. Typically, 6 rushing and most of the team within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage in the RedZone. Our OL needs to come to play.
  • The players are excited about the ROI in 1v1 battles on the defensive side of the ball and the chaos we've been able to cause recently. Specifically the sacks, forced fumbles, and APR's play.
  • Transition to Marve as defensive play caller has been smooth, Pry feels like Marve has settled in over the season. Pry usually shares his notes with Marve on Tuesday or Wednesday and may point out things in-game, but tries to allow the defensive staff to manage their game.
  • All options remain on the table for Jennings. Has the chance to play last 1-2 games and any postseason, but could redshirt.

Can't Jennings play the last 1 game, bowl game and still Redshirt. He was injured in the second game. That would leave him at 4 games played in.

Miami has a TE- McCormick that is playing his 8th year of college football. But, no since Jennings plays for VT- he doesn't have unlimited eligibility

I think I saw on a previous thread that a medical redshirt would mean he has to have had a season ending injury. Thus coming back from injury at the end of the season would not qualify him for that

yea, he has both opportunities. I think medical redshirt allows for another additional year with medical hardship waiver, if such a need arrives (two season-ending injuries).

It seems like Jennings is still eligible for a regular redshirt, but I don't know that for sure.

Starting this year (I think) the post season does not count towards the 4 games allowed to still redshirt.

I think this is the first time I've heard Pry even mention the possibility of a post season game. That is so encouraging! Go HOKIES!

Ut Prosim Ad Dei Gloriam

I understand why you wouldn't want to really talk about it before now, start with small expectations, get the first win, then the 2nd, now we are 3 wins away with every team looking beatable. Now is the right time to dangle the carrot to motivation the team.

If we make a bowl, I will consider this a remarkable season. Feels great to have a chance but I think we are still outside looking in. Love the continuous effort and subtle improvement this team has shown. Keep bringing in ballers and the VT we once knew will be here before you know it. Can't wait to be bored win 10 win seasons again

Oh yeah I'm still not confident we make a bowl, but if the teams focuses and plays well we have a chance.

Sounds like they did an excellent job vs Bye Week.

The fact that bye week wins are deemed ineligible by the NCAA is just another glaring example of their ineptitude.

It's because we sent a staff member to steal BYEs signs via video from the stands

It wouldn't surprise me if Michigan does this on their Bye Week.

But they got mixed up and went for political signs...

I'm still figuring this out.

And, true to form, got caught the first time out.

The players are excited about the ROI in 1v1 battles on the defensive side of the ball and the chaos we've been able to cause recently. Specifically the sacks, forced fumbles, ...

I seem to remember this, it seems so nearby. OH! Of course it does! Glad its coming back!

We swarm, baby.

  • That's what complimentary ball looks like. We started fast and the crowd was fantastic.
  • Needed to mix up our offensive play calling to keep Cuse's defense honest.
  • 15 sacks in 2 games. Testament to the DL's work ethic and the coaches' ability to identify and address weaknesses.
  • What shirt did David Cunningham have on last night?
  • We won the bye week. Good plan for the week allowed us to keep the momentum from Pitt and Wake going.
  • The deep ball is going to be part of who we are.
  • The ceiling is not the roof. We have to keep getting better to reach our potential.

Ima go out on a limb here and guess that J.C. Price has earned some job security.

VTCC '86 Delta Co., Peru Hokie, Former Naval Aviator, Former FBISA, Forever married to my VT87 girl. Go VT!

I dont know what changed but Fuga, Kendrick, Polland, and Brugos look a lot better in ACC play. Payne and APR can play on fire cause everyone stepped up

Gotta rotate those guys - that's the key, and we have built some more depth. Our best DLs in history had heavy rotations.

Our offense's sudden ability to sustain drive helps too.

hard not to love Pry

Onward and upward

And he's certainly made it a lot easier these last few weeks.

We won the bye week

See? Pry gets it!

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

Pry has bye week's number.

I think that counts for Bowl eligibility these days......

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Is there a way to get ACC PM on demand? I came home to the VT segment already playing on mute then couldn't find where my kid hid the remote.
