- Brohm's offense will challenge us with a variety of passing concepts. Pry compliments Louisville with creative play-calling and good ability adjusting to opposing defenses.
- Jordan has averaged 7-8 yards per carry against Duke and ND. Pry points to his absence and Pitt's ability to get in the backfield and cause turnovers as their recipe for success against Louisville.
- Louisville has only allowed 7 first quarter points. Bowen and the O need to plan well and execute to start fast and get points early.
- The 2 extra days since the Thursday game have helped the players get healthy, especially on defense. Pry was happy some players got the opportunity to spend a day or so home with family.
- Stroman remains questionable.
- RedZone conversions start with mindset, but we also need to adjust the gameplan based on how people are playing us.
- Pry comments on Louisville's defensive front and the physicality of the defense as a strength of their team multiple times.
- Pry hasn't seen the future schedules yet, but is happy for the fans to have UVA and Miami as protected rivalries.
- "Anytime you look ahead you get your butt kicked" in response to VT controlling their ACC destiny

Drones-Keys!
Anyone know the last time unranked VT beat a top 15 team on the road?
2014 - Unranked VT beat #8 Ohio St in Columbus
2013 - Unranked VT beat #14 Miami(FL) in Miami, FL
obligatory
Damn, being there to see it in person was AWESOME!
Best feeling night since the 1973 NIT Championship!
Anyone know the status of Ali Jennings? If I recall he was dressed and participated in warmups at Syracuse, correct? It would be huge to have him back in the lineup.
He's not listed on the depth chart for the Louisville game but that doesn't mean a whole lot.
I have it on what I would call very decent authority that he is unlikely to play in the regular season this year.
Operative word there being "regular" ? I see what you did there.
Such a shame he got injured in the preseason games1. I get a little giddy imagining our offense with him as an additional receiving threat.
1or, "exhibition games," if you prefer
Pry has said in the past he may be available for the last 1-2 games. I don't think we'll see him before that, holding out for the last 2 would
perseverepreserve his redshirt I believe.Might even PRESERVE it! - just teasing
Thanks, I'm terrible at proof-reading and do most of my TKPing on a dying phone that does me no favors. It's embarrassing how often I have to edit my comments.
I'm not sure if it would or not. I hope he can play a game or two and come back, but I don't think so.
Medical redshirts require that the injury happened in the first half of the season and you didn't compete in more than 30% of the games - so he would still be good.
And require you to have already used your standard redshirt. Not sure if Jennings had already redshirted.
On thursday, he was wearing cleats and throwing to drones 2 hours before the game, but he appeared pretty hobbled, and I don't believe he actually dressed for the game.
Correct. He was wearing a jersey no pads when they showed him on TV.
I've watched a couple of L'ville games this season and have a few observations...
1. To Pry's point, Jordan has been spectacular for them. He's a fantastic combination of elusiveness, speed and strength. He has an uncanny ability, not terribly different from Tuten, to find the hole (small as it may be) and get positive yards. Beyond that he's a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Limiting his yards will be paramount in staying competitive in this game. If we revert back, as Chris stated in another thread, to our early season run fits this will likely be a blowout.
2. Plummer is a very serviceable QB for the Cardinals. He has the ability to move just enough get the ball into the hands of his playmakers - and he has some. With that being said, if we can limit the production of the run game and force L'ville to drive the length of the field, Plummer will make mistakes. Our defense will need to be sharp, disciplined and willing to tackle.
3. Defensively, this L'ville team reminds me a lot of some of Bud's old school defenses. Not so much schematically, but with personnel and style of play. There is a lot of speed on this defense and the group up front is extremely physical. Outside of FSU this will be the biggest test for our young OL.
4. L'ville might be the most inconsistent team during the course of a game than any team I've watched this season. They have the ability to get up or down multiple scores, then either catch up quickly or fall behind quickly. So as we watch just be aware that nothing, when playing L'ville, over until it's over.

Sign Stealing Anecdotes:
Pry gave a lot of insight into his responses to questions on sign stealing, so I went ahead and separated these notes.
Bowen lost a bet to the OL in the Cuse game and had to shave his beard into a fu manchu.
That is the kind of motivation I want to see between coaches and players. He also proved to the OL they could do something when challenged.
Absolutely this. Bowen had nothing to lose from losing this bet and everything to gain. I hope someone got a picture of him with his new stache.
