Alright, who's the sicko here bidding $300 for a women's final four seat

If you can't handle my shit posts, you don't deserve my memes

185 retail brand new. If this was actually from the VT bench at that final four, it's worth the price.

4K for a 12 month lease at Foxridge seems pretty great

Danny is always open

Started at 4K...

Already higher than that.

Bourbon with Brent... this guy gets it

Yeah that one might fetch a pretty penny sounds like a great time

I want to do a "film review" with Bud and just watch the 95 Sugar Bowl with a bucket of beer.

or the OSU Bear Front game. Man I would love to sit there and listen to his film review of that with a few cold ones.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

If I win can I just have him come to my basement and drink bourbon from my bar?

Did you see the list of bourbons that will be made available to taste with Pry? If your bar is competitive with that, then we need to become friends!

Meh, Pappy is so overhyped and fine for what it is, but I definitely have stuff that will blow it out of the water and far more unique. I love bringing people over who say they love it and then giving them a ton of stuff to try. Especially to get them into other spirits.

So do you need any new friends?

More than happy to share with any TKPers that come through Louisville. I have way more than I could drink in this lifetime

I'm sure Quinton Nottingham would love to switch to your place for the bourbon tasting, but not sure that Brent Pry is willing to do that. Unless they can take the Hokie Bird!

The only "wow" one is the Pappy 23... IMO. The others- trace, etc. are fine tasting bourbons but nothing you can't buy at any ABC store. Pappy 10's are readily available as well. Now, don't get me wrong- dinner for 6, very good bourbon tastings, chatting with Pry- very cool time.

Best way to drink buffalo trace is pour it down the toilet. It's the equivalent of hot keystone lite.

I appreciate that- and I can see it if you drink and have access to top end bourbon. To me, I'd much rather drink Buffalo Trace than Jim Beam all day every day for example.

I'd take BT also, but even regular JB isn't THAT bad. There are several other brands under the Beam umbrella I'd get though before it. One of the things that's great about bourbon is that the rules for it are strict enough that it has a pretty high floor (at least for the big producers/assuming at least 4 years old in a full sized barrel). BT, Old Tub, Evan Williams White, JTS Brown BiB, JW Dant BiB, Four Roses Small Batch, OF 100, Beam Single Barrel, WT101, Dickel 8 Year, Early Times BiB. All around $30 or less and are quality products that are fine for sipping but won't feel bad about mixing.

Just stay away from any of the Total Wine brands...

Old Tub is good; I also like Evan Williams white label for a cheap bourbon. Knob Creek 100 and Makers Mark are also drinkable. My bourbon of choice is WT101 and Rare Breed; these are what I drink 99.2% of the time.

Definitely. If you haven't tried Russell's Reserve single barrel (not the 10 year) I highly recommend with your love of turkey. I've had some great bottles of it (and got to do my first ever pick in the warehouse with Bruce Russell)

Russells Reserve is good too. Longbranch and pretty much anything associated with Wild Turkey and Jimmy Russell

It was difficult for me not to downvote this haha!

Seriously though, I was drinking BT before it was sexy, because at $27/bottle, I'm not sure it gets better than that. But everyone is different. Are there better bourbons out there? Absolutely. Are there better bourbons out there for $27? Not many IMO.

Is coronavirus over yet?

This. When it was sub $30 it was unbeatable for the price. At closer to $50 it's competing in a different weight class.

I think it drinks like a $40/$45 bottle. I've never seen it selling for $50... With the exception of South Carolina, where they have some weird liquor laws.

But I do tend to agree with your assessment.

Is coronavirus over yet?

SC tends to have pretty cheap liquor considering we have privately owned stores - this also means the price can fluctuate a lot from store to store. Finding certain bottles can be pretty hard though because the restaurants and bars generally get allocated liquor first by distributors.

Where in the hell is pappy anything available? Definitely not in NOVA

anything is readily available with enough money

Go here they have them all and then some but you'll have to pay typical secondary market prices

The owner's name is Prav and does a lot of barrel picks. My friends order about 50 barrel pick bottles a year from him and they are always great.

Bud really stepped up with 4 events.

He really is the best.

Bud and Beamer are also both participating in Alumni Weekend in June.

When I checked yesterday, nobody had bid on Bud's items. How???

I don't know, but they look like great events.

I'm poor now with kids, but the only two I'd think about would be Bourbon with Pry and Film with Bud.

Same here, just finished building the new house, haven't gotten the old house sold yet. Ramen noodle time.

How does one of the film sessions with Bud have no bids on it?

6 TKPers with $400 each could pull this off

Edit: surprised nobody has joked about Marve buying it for the defensive staff

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I'm down, who else is in?

I would be interested in that.

If anyone is considering bidding, there are five days left.

They added a couple of items: basketballs signed by Coach Duffy.

Enter Sandman entrance for four people (includes game tickets to game of your choice) for under $500 per person seems like a stellar bargain.

It says a lot about Boyer if VT football is asking him to do a wine event for NiL. Took his Geo of Wine class back in the day, and would again for sure.

My wife and I did a self-paced course with his book a few years ago. It's a good way to get to know your local wine shop manager.

Geo of Wine class

Took this class right up until I could drop it without penalty once I realized I wasn't putting any effort in and it wasn't going to help my gpa but it was super interesting and I did learn quite a bit about wines we also just harassed Gary V to come to Blacksburg seemingly every class - not sure if that ever paid off. Personally thought it was way better than his World Regions which was also awesome but not quite that awesome

Geography of Wine and Brewing Science Technology were the best classes I took at Tech. Only classes outside my major that had any value to me later in life. Although intro to Acting was a fun time as well

Unfortunately, couldn't swing any of these, but I did donate for an entry to all of the other open-ended ones that aren't auctions through the other NIL fundraiser right now:
