Beating uva in an Olympic sport just means more... pain for them. I only enjoy it more because they hung their hat on the Olympic sports while we were extending the football win streak.

It is weird that the IOC has this weird on/off relationship with baseball and softball. But no softball in Paris this year.
I think since the USA team dominated so hard when they had it before kind of made it into a reason to drop it. I remember we were all kind of pissed that Tincher didn't make the last team before they cut it off, because I think they just wanted to give Finch one last run at it even though Angela was probably the better pitcher at that point.
Tincher did no hit the USA softball team. She absolutely deserved to be on the USA team.
Just fyi, we are sitting at 6.5-9 in the clash with the bad guys leading. 6.5 points remaining across the following events:
April 17th: Lacrosse (1)
April 21st: Women's Golf (1 for higher placement at ACC champs)
April 22nd: Men's Golf (1 for higher placement at ACC champs)
April 23rd: Softball (0.5)
May 11th: Women's Outdoor Track (1 for higher placement at ACC champs)
May 11th: Men's Outdoor Track (1 for higher placement at ACC champs)
May 16th-18th: Baseball (1 for series win)
If we'd gotten our customary 2 points from cross country last fall, this would be looking pretty nice for the good guys, but as it stands, we'll need to pull some upsets to win the clash this year. I could be wrong, but we look good for 2.5 points (softball and track). We would need 4.5 to tie and I haven't looked up tie breakers yet. Absolutely huge if we could find a way to win lacrosse tonight. LOLUVa is ranked #6, so...

that's correct. Cross country, track, and golf are the ones evaluated based on ACC championship placement. I'll edit to note that.
We have the common wealth cup, I think the tiebreaker is pretty settled.
I really don't care about the clash. Pretty sure it was invented because UVA is never getting the cup back except once every 20 year on a fluke.
I dont care if we lose because it's designed for us to lose, which is why I love it when we win. We won football and split both basketballs so we had a good year, if we win it's icing on the top of the pie.
Unfortunately Lacrosse couldn't get it done, lost 14-12. Struggled with draws.
LOLUVa swept us in golf (shocked face). They lead 12-6.5 with 3.5 points remaining. Best we can do is 10-12, for you liberal arts majors reading this. Initiate not caring about the clash...
Well the clash scoring should finalize right about the time my Commonwealth Cup mug shows up, so all will be fine.
