This is the sort of player I was expecting to be in. I don't think he's been mentioned in any interviews that I recall listening to. Hopefully he finds another landing spot and gets some traction there.

Based on transfers so far, seem to be a handful of in-state "reaches" that I believe were later commits to the class and might have been fillers to help build relationships and create a narrative. Not saying that was an ideal approach, but I think Pry in 2022 knew he had to establish an identity, even if its a bit of a false one.
Despite the "this is our state" talk (and a lot of the roster currently reflects that), the bulk of our most important players for 2024 (Drones, Tuten, J-Lane, Delane, Strong, etc) are not Virginians.

This is exactly why Pry wants to get ODU off the schedule - Pry can take risk with high upside recruits or take a couple guys for relationship purposes. Try to coach em up, then send em to ODU, where they may be able to have a meaningful career.

Maybe someone like ODU would take him since it's only been a year since they recruited him out of high school. I thought he was a good prospect when he committed here but he showed up last summer at 170 to play LB

I was happy to get him, we were loading up on long athletic smart athlete types and he certainly fit that. If I recall, he projected more as a hybrid coverage guy than a true LB, but 170 is still lean for that frame if you're gonna be in the front 7 at all

Inexact science for sure, but you wonder about offering a 170 lb linebacker in the first place?

LOL- VT might want to beat ODU in football consistently before claiming they are our farm team.
"This is Our
StatePortal!"as a R-FR with zero reps where is he logically going to land? D2?

Holy skinny! 6'4" and 170 lbs is more like a Bball guard, not a D1 linebacker.
Those hard conversations are happening.
Hopefully not together.
Underrated Wahoo dig.. .
