I mean, can you really blame us? It's more ludicrous than a State Farm commercial.
At this point, I'd like to see college football so regulated that Alabama could lose scholarships because their secretaries use the wrong type of pencil.

I live less than 2 miles from SMU campus, and I can tell you that if you walked on campus you would probably think you just walked onto the "grounds" in C-ville since it might as well be LOLUVA...

The NCAA legit tried to kill their sports programs. Why? Eric Dickerson got a car. The NCAA didn't try to kill Miami or Oklahoma football who did much worse in that era. SMU in an unregulated pay for play world will absolutely be better than Virginia Tech for years to come. It is now 100% about how much money you have, and they have it.
There was a little more to it than the Trans A&M, which was not given to him by anyone associated with SMU (It was the A&M boosters but of course "officially" his grandmother gave it to him, and when he backed out of his A&M commitment to go to SMU it wasn't like the A&M boosters could say anything about it)
