It was strange. From the parts of that game I saw, NCST was keeping everyone back, basically looking to stop VT's offense at all cost. Then they got a few breakaways off of that deep defensive posture. VT should have lost. State girl blew a wide open shot right in front of the goal. Hit the crossbar and somehow bounced back into the field of play.

Always deep.
In 2022 the ACC had 6 of the final 16 in the NCAA Tournament
In both 2022 and 2023 they've had 2 of the final 4.
in 2020 they had 3 of the final 4 spots.
Since 2011 there's been at least 1 ACC team in the Championship game every year except 2016 and 2017.

FSU has 4.
Stanford 3
Notre Dame 3
UNC 21 (they won 12 of the first 13)
They went undefeated from 1986 to sometime in 1994. There were 6 ties in that stretch. 186-0-6 in that stretch.

ACC is guaranteed to win another this year as all 4 in the semifinals will be ACC schools. UNC, Stanford, and Wake thru, add in winner of Duke-VT at 6 tonight.

Watched most of it last night on ACCN. They looked terrible. Reminded me of the NC State game last week. The girls were listless. The difference with UVA was that they capitalized and scored a goal. They probably should have scored another goal or two. I can count on one hand the number of VT passes I saw that actually connected. It was awful.

The Hokies get the 3 seed in the ACC Tournament and will host the #6 seed; either Notre Dame or Stanford on Saturday the 3rd.
Winner advances to play #4 UNC.
Hokies were 19th going into this matchup.
How did they go 0-0 against NCST the other night, they didn't look good at all.
Trap game?

Way to go, ladies!
That's a tough conference tournament if number 19 in the country is on the outside looking in
They are set to be the 3 seed.
Now that they beat ND, but from what I read it sounded like they were on the outside looking in before that win.
Before the win they would have been no worse than 6 seed. Hokies, FSU and Wake Forest all have 6 wins now but we're all at 5 before this week.
Thanks for the clarification

How many different ACC Women's Soccer teams not named Virginia Tech have won National Titles?
Two.
Only 4 counting Stanford and Notre Dame

UNC fucking women's soccer - 21 national titles. Virginia Tech ever in anything... 0

Ladies moved up to 12th in the polls.
Ladies turned around after beating Notre Dame and blew the Commonwealth Clash at home 1-0 which dropped them to the 5th seed in the ACC Tourney.
They face #4 UNC on Sunday at 6pm in Chapel Hill and then #1 Duke on Thursday in Cary NC if they win.
The most VT fucking thing ever - losing to UVA soccer in that spot. Most fucking VT thing ever.

And Tech missed an open goal scoring chance!
