Definitely the right move, hail to the Queen of Cassell!
EDIT: I completely forgot that this was originally announced 6 months ago and yours truly posted a thread back then.
I need more coffee. Or less?

Very cool and congrats to the WBB team for being sold out for the season for probably the first time.
Well deserved.
This is awesome. She more than deserves it. She was the best player on the court against total scum cheating programs like NC State, and UNC, etc. that paid players before NIL. Great for her- it was so awesome to see a hokie dominate the way she did.
Unanimous 1st ballot decision. Easiest decision of Whit's career. She totally earned it.
Georgia had a chance to be there next to her too, alas no longer.
Yep and if Kenny Brooks ever comes back to Cassell, he can kiss his "video tribute" goodbye. They took the Kentucky bag- a lateral at best program- good riddance
Women have their own gym, own training facility and locker room just upgraded, his salary jumped. Listen he went out like scum but to claim to not understand why he jumped is stupid and ignores reality .
Oh of course they do. It's a million year old gym that Rupp replaced. But if that gets Kenny's dick hard- good for him. By lateral at best I meant they never contend for the SEC championship. VT was contending for ACC titles- a league very much on par with the SEC in womens hoops. Whit screwed up by allowing Mike Youngs team to also practice in Hahn Hurst- what an ass not to have a womens only practice gym that sits empty 90% of the time.
Their gym at Memorial Coliseum is actually completely renovated. They overhauled everything inside. This is what he is working with plus an SEC budget and NIL bag. ESPN just moved them up from #25 to #23 in their latest poll. He is not suffering.
That is their "cassel" for women. Cassel has seats and a jumbo tron too. He could have practiced in there, correct? And I'm guessing their ranking has something to do with Brooks being the coach? Hahn Hurst is a fine facility. Sorry he had to share it with Mike Young.
It's more because of their roster and other teams with injury questions. Brooks brought in a ton of experienced transfers.
He's not suffering, but he could have done great things at VT.
He did. He could've done greater things. Instead he turned his back and Whit wasn't smart enough to make a proper counter to keep him. The entire situation was bungled out of greed.
The monetary offer was made, Tech couldn't offer the other stuff and it's weird people don't understand that.
No, I understand it was on the VT side of things that this fell apart. What I dont know if it was a "wouldn't" or "couldn't" on Whit's side of it. Either we didn't have the purse from year's of lagging behind in AD funding, or he didn't feel like investing in the program. Either way, VT screwed up.
Disagree. They ponied up the money, but it's not like they could wave a magic wand and all of a sudden a women's only facility is going to appear. Bottom line: SEC bag >>> ACC bag, and Kenny wanted to cash in while his stock was up. I don't like it, but I understand it.
True, several of them were from VT. Grrrr..
Exciting to have a date set!
I'm a big fan of Kitley.
She exemplifies what it means to be a Hokie, and I'm happy to see her honored in this way.
