We had nothing but trouble with that stupid espn+ crap, and paid 11 bucks for the honor. Ended up getting it on the computer and patching to the tv, but we missed the first half video and then when trying to listen, we somehow were getting the live call and the announcers from about 30 seconds before that all at the same time. Finally got to watch the game but had to get the sound on the computer. I'd say never again, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to suffer through that again.

Well I need to apologize here. I tuned in at the end of the 1st quarter, and watched almost the whole 2nd quarter before realizing my mistake and turning it off.
But hopefully this team can take these ugly wins and learn from them. It won't save us from more 3 hour stomachaches, but maybe we'll win some as the season goes on.

The good: we beat a team we are supposed to beat, by a score we are supposed to.
The bad: the entire telecast. Shaky cameras. Blurry cameras. Announcers whose audio and content are rivaled by single A Virginia high school broadcasts.
The ugly: Chaplin hurt in pregame. Gosnell and Tuten hurt.
Of note: A LOT of rotation in the secondary, especially at safety.

Objectively...we won by 3 scores in a place that has been a house of horrors the last 6 years. For that alone we should FAM the hell out of tonight.
Subjectively we only played 3 qtrs of good football and let this be competitive far longer than it should've been. I really just need to see a complete game from these guys which I feel we haven't seen in a long time.

Drones slowly coming out from his slumber but man... looking for more from him. He has weapons and time... should be drubbing clown teams like Vandy/ODU.
The D needs to calm down and just play your assignment. All of the big plays are when one of our guys decides to play hero ball.
The coaching still worries me. I just thought I would see more fire from this group. It's almost like too much thinking going on. Pry needs to step it up and deliver and that includes his team of coaches.

My favorite part of the game was a deep pass where the announcer told us to watch the coverage on the play, while we are being shown the line of scrimmage. Fantastic camera work in this one.

Yeah I listened to the VT Radio Network broadcast and they do a good job with the play by play. The color commentary could use some work but if you have a good play by play guy, listening to a game on the radio is great.

in the 4th quarter it sounded like the mic went out for the color guy and the they could still barely pick him up on the play by play guy's mic and broadcast team said ehh good enough.

Norfolk, Virginia has been a house of horrors for Virginia Tech over the years, including a 49-35 loss to Old Dominion as a heavy favorite in 2018 and a 20-17 defeat at the hands of the Monarchs in 2022 -- a game in which the Hokies' coaching staff was temporarily trapped in an elevator and its locker room was robbed mid-game.
Saturday, Virginia Tech managed to get a little revenge, making the trip to the 757 without having the team bus impounded, getting food poisoning from some sketchy Virginia Beach all-you-can-eat shrimp deals or waking up with a "VT + Fuente 4Eva" tattoo. Also, the Hokies managed to win 37-17 behind tailback Bhayshul Tuten, who ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns without anyone tying his shoestrings together while he wasn't looking.

Must win game. We won- very uneven, should have played a much cleaner second quarter. Too close against a bad 0-3 ODU team with their best defensive player out and on their backup QB. You take any win in Norfolk, but must play better each week.

I watched that game on the high seas via a website called "methstreams", which felt incredibly fitting given the nature of that broadcast.
I listened to it on my 1938 Bakelite Arkay tube radio. Apparently the quality was the same as the ESPN+ broadcast. FAM
