Saw him getting a coffee in the village in Pinehurst the day after he missed the cut at the US Open. Guy was shooting the shit with his family and swing coach and mimed a couple of half swings trying to debrief what went wrong, laughing about it. Would love to see him do well this week too. He seems to always be in it on Thursday at Augusta

Nothing beats those cheap beers in the plastic cups and just crushing the pimento cheese on whatever white bread it was. Hardly a line on practice round days.

I was listening to SVP talk on Russillo's podcast yesterday about how bad he wants to see Rory win and complete the slam with all the struggles he's had for the last 10 years and basically mentioned how, especially at the masters he'll have a great first 14 or 15 holes with it looking so easy and then just implode the last few and ..thats's exactly what happened yesterday

I bet on Rory to win this thing on Dec 29. It was a Rollercoaster ride, but he finally did it. Beat the final boss, got the grand slam, and his green jacket.

If you saw where the Qi35 put him at Torrey Pines, he didn't have a choice. And you could see it on his face that he just was not happy with the Driver. When you crank out a new line of drivers every 9 months, with only cosmetic and a slight weight change, it's not enough to push these guys to jump on board fully and get what they need. There's a few guys on tour still with the G425 in the bag I believe.

Rose with the pop-up 7 wood at 4...I can identify with that
Note everyone in his group hit 7 wood there. I still think anyone not carrying a 7 wood or 9 wood is missing a trick. Super easy to hit and great loft and spin.

Became my favorite club in my bag after I gave into a bunch of your comments about them. My playing partner just went from D, 3W, 5H to D, 4W, 7W after watching me hit my 7W from everywhere.

My old man setup is still D (8.25); 3W (14); 4W (16.5); 7W (21); 9W (24).
Just added 2 degrees of loft to my 6i and gained a half club in carry. I just don't have the setup and swing speed to play stronger lofted mid irons. Will try the same with 7i.

Should be a fun weekend. Weather not a factor and lots of likable players in the mix. We could see multiple players go on hot streaks today and tomorrow. The -3's probably have too many folks to get past but Morikawa and Aberg can go crazy low.
I don't think he'll win but I'm kind of becoming a Terrell Hatton fan...he's brutally honest, not full of himself, and has a pretty dry wit (Are you starting to like this course? "Do I like any golf course?").
My gut (and I have had a stomach bug this week) says Rose will stick around the lead. The course clearly suits him and his putter is hot. [I'm also kind of pissed at Chamblee going so far out of his way to explain why Rose can't possibly win.] Augusta also suits Conners very well; not sure he can make enough putts. Scheffler looked out of sorts on the range last night. We'll see if he can get the drive on 18 out of his head.
Media would love a DeChambeau, Scheffler, McIlroy race Sunday afternoon. If that's the case, I'll be pulling for Rory.

Would love to see him complete the slam. And they can forever play the clip of Poppy making that 30 foot snake in the par 3 w Lowry's reaction. (There's a chance.Lowry could be in the final group w him if he makes a move on the back.) Can you imagine how much Guinness will be consumed in Georgia if that all happens.

Edit: Wow, what a freaking dart on the 1st playoff hole approach by Rory, especially after his 18th hole and Rose's approach. Never give up! π―β³οΈ

Personally I am rooting for Rory, I would like to see him get the slam.
Bernhard Langer at one under through eight. Love the old guys showing they still got it.
My actual pick though is JT. Think he finally finds out how to hit fairways consistently this week
I'd probably get a 10 on #5 today
Sheffler now in the lead, 3 under through 9.
Benefit of having three monitors at work. Two for work, one for golf. And a winner on Reed to par #15 at +100.
Justin Rose out in 31, dude is having a great round.
I wounldn't mind at all seeing him win. He is supposedly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

I think I've seen more putts hit other players' ball markers this year than ever before

Welp, glad I didn't bet on Rory.
big advantage for those playing this morning

Not so fast my friend!
Maybe I should've bet on him this morning!

Both he and Scheffler are gaming Qi10 right now...interesting
McIlroy used it at TPC as well.
TM probably beside themselves right now

I did end up betting on Rory later on, got better odds than he had at the start, too!

My 7w gave me confidence that I could hit my 5w. Those are now my two favorite clubs in my bag and I'll probably never touch another hybrid
Glad that has worked out

McNealy's brother (caddie) shaking his head on that last made putt, lol

DeChambeau is in a great spot. Today will be interesting.
Indeed
Pulling for Rose, but basically in the ABD camp.
(Anybody but Dechambeau). I just don't like that guy.
Rory show so far today. And Rose can't make a Birdie putt
Yeah if Rory is actually making putts everyone else is in trouble
I keep waiting for Day to make a move; doing everything but score
lights too bright for Rose right now...thought he'd keep it together better than this
Yeah he just can't make anything happen so far. Then again, both Rory and Bryson are quite capable of imploding.
Rory has a putt for 31!!!!!

lots of pros going to try to hang out tonight with Zach Johnson
Rose just cannot fucking find the cup with any birdie putts today.
Talk about an all timer of a pairing for tomorrow. I hope Rory can exorcize the demons bc I really don't want to see Bryson get a green jacket.
Let's go Rors!!!!!!!!
I like Bryson and Rory so if someone from the last pairing wins I'll be happy. Pulling for Rory to finish the grand slam
Rory just can't finish.

decent tournament : )
Yeah, wish there was a bit more drama and that the winner had a very meaningful moment.
