Ladies went 4-0 on the week, beating #24 Liberty and sweeping NC State on the road. They are now 32-5 and most likely will be in Top Ten this week after #10 FSU loss to UVA, #9 South Carolina loss to Ole Miss, #7 LSU loss to #23 Alabama, and #6 Tennessee loss to #15 Miss St.
I will speculate they come in at #9, moving ahead of FSU and South Carolina. FSU did upset #2 Florida early in the week so that may be enough to keep them ahead. Doubt they punish Tenn/LSU by dropping them, especially with LSU being two of the Hokies five losses.
This week the ladies face Charlotte at home Tuesday at 6pm on ACC Network. This weekend they have Notre Dame (18-21-1) coming to Blacksburg. Friday is 6pm on ACCNX, Saturday is 2pm on ACCNX, and Sunday is 6pm on ACC Network.

Hope for a repeat this week with a win and another sweep. This is a heckova team and I've really enjoyed watching the games, even if usually just on the computer. Great at the plate, and in the field, I'd love to get those LSU losses back and feel like there would be a different outcome if we were playing them now.
Welp...went completely backwards. FSU moved up a spot despite losing to UVA.
Hokies dropped a spot despite going 4-0. Didn't move ahead of South Carolina who dropped to 11th after losing and they moved Arkansas ahead of both Hokies and South Carolina for beating #2 Florida twice.
Five of the eleven teams ahead of Hokies lost this week, including Arkansas.
As usual 'no respect'. Got to keep moving the $EC teams up for any reason possible.

Sucks for baseball because it would consolidate the bullpen arms to two days.

This time of year in B'burg, base and soft ball is often at the mercy of the weather, and a good day is sunny and 50 degrees with less than 10 mph wind. But I've seen the umps with neck ups and gloves and most fans covered up pretty well and figured the players couldn't enjoy those days much. Forecast looks better for Sat. and good for Sun.
Gotta go buy more food and beer.

If you were planning on watching baseball or softball tomorrow on ESPN you can forget it. All broadcasts tomorrow have been cancelled in favor of the Spring Game. Hope no critical plays that could have been challenged go against our teams just so we have a couple more cameras at practice.
Is the Spring game televised? I did not think it was. Do the coaches need tape of the players?

Several defensive gems... Peck robbed a HR in center. Went up and grabbed it over the fence. And another, a base hit, she came up throwing to Yaeger to get a runner at home. Castine had one where she got a ground ball at second, tagged the runner going from first to second, then threw to Chatfield at first for the double play. And Blackwell snagged a foul fly ball while running into the fence at the bullpen.
It was a full house for both games!
