OT: Viewing site with iPad?

Apologies for the wasted bandwidth. When I view the site on my iPhone it displays differently than on my iPad. The phone puts the discussions at the bottom, and has keys like "N" for next new comment.

Is there a way to have this same layout on the iPad? Sorry if this has been discussed or is documented somewhere.

It looks like if the browser window is narrow (like on a phone) you get the shortcut keys. I'm using the new windowed mode on my iPad, and if I make the window narrower, it looks like the phone site with the shortcuts. There is a setting in Safari to "request desktop mode" but I don't think that does anything for this website.

If you have a keyboard case (magic keyboard or other) the shortcuts N = new T = Ten Votes M= My comment they should work without the buttons on the screen. Those buttons are there on mobile devices since the keyboard is hidden

If I remember correctly.

I told him I’d crawl on my hands and knees to be the DL coach at Virginia Tech. Now, all of a sudden, I’m sitting in this chair and I told him I’d still crawl on my hands and knees to work here. I just want to be here.

Shift + N, T, M will give you the same in reverse order

I do art stuff.

Does the T stand for "ten" or "top"? I always interpreted it as top comments but I guess this can be the new Cake v. Pie

Here lies It's a Stroman Jersey I Swear, surpassed in life by no one because he intercepted it.

It scrolls through green comments which have +10 or more, and are considered "top comments"

Right it gives you all the Ten + comments

You can flip the iPad vertically and it will give you the n, t, m, options at the bottom like on iPhone

This is the answer. Joe has explained in the past that the format is based on screen orientation. There isn't separate desktop and mobile versions of the site.

If the screen is vertical like a phone you get "buttons" on the bottom. If it's horizontal you get the "desktop" formatting.

Thanks for this. I had searched for this type of thing but hadn't been successful. I've probably had the rotation lock on for years.
