I told my friend, who is a big Florida fan, right about the time it was announced.

My friend hasn't stopped laughing

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

I wonder what his first year will be like. I sort of expect Chesney to bring a bunch of players with him to ucla

Onward and upward

It was pretty telling that UF kept the vast majority of their class intact after Napier was fired.

He has had good classes at UF but the resources won't be the same at JMU.

I am firmly in the camp that he is an average-subaverage O.C. with equal talent on the opposing side.

There is some intrigue here about what the fate of D.J. Lagway will be. Will he stay....does the new regime even want him to? I don't think there is a high likelihood that he follows Napier to JMU and there is pretty minimal reason to be concerned that any of UF's better players end up at JMU.

We should beat JMU handily next year IMHO

Lagway might look good in O and M

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I think this is a good hire for them. He won't have the resources he had at Florida, but he won't have the same SEC competition either. He's won in this conference before, and JMU keeps winning regardless of head coach so unfortunately I'd expect that to continue under Napier.

It depends how much more resources JMU has relative to the league. At ULL he was far ahead of the rest of the league and still blew a few games and couldn't beat Chadwell Coastal. If JMU's just richer than every sure yeah he'll probably do well

Rumor has it Chesney was offered what would be tops in the league had he stayed.

I know some folks in development up there. Despite not having the base just yet for a lot of big time donations, they do an excellent job with engagement on the development side of things. I expect they will continue the gradual climb as it relates to $$

Is coronavirus over yet?

Totally agree, but I think JMU has more than enough resources to make Napier successful. He's definitely a downgrade from Cig and Chesney (and his name doesn't start with C) but it's hard to think of a more perfect G5 situation for him. JMU has the alignment that Saban disciples thrive on.
