Unlike the Stanford game where the team just completely unraveled after the bad first 2 minutes of the 4th qtr, they planned much better and stayed focused it seemed.
Nice win. Go Hokies^!!

I don't follow close enough to know who are real candidates, but if Duffy isn't ACC coach of the year, then it's either robbery or another HC is doing a phenomenal job.
And it's really cool to see her embrace Hokie nation and build the WBB program. It wouldn't surprise me to see them back to the top of the ACC in a few years (but ND has that spot for two more with Hidalgo...)
And it's nice to see Ekh and Micheaux stick with the Hokies and have great seasons. Transferring in to play with Brooks (who left them behind), both could have easily found another spot to finish their careers. But, I think they're both extremely happy with how it is all turning out. Let's just hope they get to finish it off with a NCAA tourney berth.

Unfortunately it will likely go to Ivey at Notre Dame for buying a new team. If they had beaten NC State today would have been locked. Same thread on men's side. Likely going to the Louisville coach with his brand new purchased team.

This ties Beth Dunkenberger for third best first season (Our first in the ACC). She trails only Kenny Brooks (20 wins) and Bonnie Henrickson (22 wins). With remaining games against Clemson and BC, teams that both have losing records as of tonight, she should move to one behind Brooks going into the ACC tournament.
The 8 conference wins is 2nd best for a first year coach, behind only Bonnie Henrickson's 11 (A10)in 1997. Winning out and winning one game in the ACC tournament will tie Henrickson.
The 17th win (8th conference) comes very much close to the 12th anniversary of Dennis Wolff's same numbers, the only difference is that Wolff needed 2 years to get to 17 and 8 in the win columns.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the job Coach Duffy has done. Yeah, the team has had slumps this season, but then you get nights like this where a slightly-better-performing team is close all game but our team doesn't blink and gets the win. No 10 - 0 runs but we didn't give any up either.
Solid Senior Night FAM

I watched the kb post game presser out of smug curiosity and I have to say that I like Megan Duffy so much more. He spent half the press conference whining about the refs and then he and georgia spent the other half talking about georgia and why wnba teams should draft her

This was Duffy's 17th win as Hokies coach.

"Cal fans won't be like this, but maybe you could still have this."
Is it tampering if a player enters the portal for the fans?
Too bad Krimili will be done. She was deadly from outside today.
Way to go ladies FAM!
