Let's Go!!!

Life is good.

Hokies!

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

Played in every game...but <100 Snaps total.

Was a backup and at one point, apparently fill-in TE.

Presumably is a depth piece, which we certainly need on OL.

Slightly OT, but there are so many new names on the Roster (with various levels of eligibility), it's near impossible to keep any track of at this point or have any realistic projections going forward beyond just this year.

Maybe that's intriguing for some but, for me, it makes me much less engaged and invested in following.

Between that, and the product we've been putting on the field for the past decade, it's tough

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

That's exactly why I started making the roster tracker spreadsheets. Without them I wouldn't know ~40% of the roster at the start of the season.

At this point, if it's not close to the season, the roster is in flux and I'll wait till it settles. No point in trying to learn something that fluid year to year, IMO.

It has absolutely taken the excitement out of watching players develop over the years for me.

Absolutely. In the past ~24 hours, we have gotten an Offensive transfer from Auburn (a "meh" Offense) and a Defensive transfer from UNC (a bad defense). Normally, this would be exciting news, but at this point its really just questions---Does this make us better? Worse? Will these guys even play? Do I really even care??

Next year, it's wash, rinse, and repeat again with a bunch of new faces, also on their 3rd collegiate team.

I get that the "Beamer Way," is gone from CFB and its not coming back, but this current "System" (if you can call this a system) is watering down the product. But we're fans....don't worry about us....we're just here to buy $14 Beers and donate to the "Collective"

And buy season tickets and drop a 1000 a weekend in Blacksburg to watch them play Wofford, odu, liberty and vmi. Not

It's funny, by having unregulated NIL, it's actually made the players less valuable from a real NIL perspective. I don't care about the players as much because who knows if they'll be here in 7 months. I don't care about playing the current VT players in CFB25, I just want to move on and draft my own. I remember killing people with Bryan Randall and loving that.

Look at the faces of college football, UGA has Carson Beck .. oh... Maybe a dominant big guy like LT Overton, should help with A&Ms large donor base ... oh huh... I just don't care because they might be gone next year so why get invested. I mean who didn't want Delane to be an all time great at VT? Who didn't want Chaplin to take another step forward and be a dominant tackle. But now I have to figure who to care about and largely I don't. I dont care if I ever get to play any of our current roster in a video game. I dont care to buy their jersey. I just don't care. I hope our players do well and all, but I doubt I'll hold many of them in as high regards as some of the ones in the past. I loved watching Peebles play this year, but what about Woody Baron, or Hopkins pros, or a number of DTs that might not have been as good but we got to watch them grow in the system. Tuten was a fantastic back but him and Herbert don't hit me like like Sugg or Jones or even McClease. Watching McClease clean up on every blocking assignment his senior year was amazing to watch how much he improved. So these guys just don't have the value to me for actual NIL (not pay to play) as a lot of the players used to have.

I have enough hope/dread that a depth piece at Auburn is a significant addition to our OL room.

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."
