Hokies start the National Duals today chasing a big pot of NIL money. It won't be easy as they start against #9 Minnesota. The Hokies have already faced a number of the Gophers in the Southeast Open and three out of four of those went in the Gophers favor.
Here is a good preview article that talks to the previous matchups and what to look for today. Unfortunately the match is on Flowrestling so I will be checking Hokies Wrestling twitter for updates.

LETS GO!!!
HOKIES!!!
Ventresca is in SV after 3 rounds tied at 1
Now in Rideouts
Ventresca gives up reversal in Rideout 1. Opts neutral in 2nd for chance at takedown
Ventresca loses 3-1. Not a good start as this was one of the few matchups we were the higher ranked
Campbell up 3-0 with 1:34 RT after 1st.
Still 3-0 after 2nd. Campbell starts down in 3rd
4-0 after escape but no longer has RT point
Campbell wins 5-3
Team score tied at 3
Crook trails 1-0 after second after allowing escape
Starts down in 3rd
Crook escapes but VomBaur has over 1 min RT so Crook needs a takedown or to force a stall
Crook with a takedown but somehow tied at 4 possibility of SV but Challenge going on right now
Only thing that makes sense is takedown and allowed reversal and maintained RT
Somehow review gives Minnesota 5-4 win. No idea how.
It was 1-1. Takedown made it 4-1. Reversal makes it 4-3. RT makes it 4-4. No idea where 5th point is coming from
Apparently they hit Crook with a locked hands call on the review costing him the match
Hokies trail 6-3
Nininger up 7-0 early in 2nd and has over 1 min RT
Nininger wins 16-1
Tech Fall
Hokies lead 7-6
Noah looked good. For the Crook match thanks for the explanation of the locked hands penalty because I couldnt figure out how it wasnt tied at 4 going into SV. Surprised at how good Crook stayed in the match against an All American
Heinrich loses 16-1 gives up the bonus Nininger had gotten us. Complete blowout from start to finish
Burton tied at 0 after 1st
Burton on top in 2nd
Burton trails 1-0 after escape.
Burton with the huge upset of #11 Sparks 7-4
Got a reversal starting down. After escape scored another takedown
Desiante tied at 1 in 3rd
Going to Sudden Victory
Robie challenges a Neutral Danger Takedown. If not reversed Desiante will lose 4-1
Challenge reverses call. Still wrestling
Desiante on top in first Rideout
Riddle escapes. Leads 2-1. Desiante opts neutral as only had 4 seconds RT. Has to get a takedown or force a stall
Desiante loses 2-1.
Team score still tied
Bullock facing his former Big10 nemesis #1 Max McEnelly
Trails 3-1 after 1st.
On bottom to start 2nd
3-2 after escape
Bullock trails 9-4. Not looking good for the good guys. Can't give up a bonus points here. Mullen lost to his opponent at the SouthEast open so need Bullock to keep it to a simple loss here to have a hope.
And after a complete meltdown in third, Bullock loses 23-7 May have just sealed the Dual against us
#23 Sasso up against #17 Gavin Nelson
Zero all after 1st. Sasso down to start 2nd
Sasso up 1-0 after escape
Trails 3-1 after takedown
Escape makes it 3-2
Nelson goes neutral to prevent possible RT pt for Sasso. Still 3-2
Sasso with takedown but being challenged for being out
Sasso leads 5-3 on top with about minute left
Escape makes it 5-4
Sasso wins 8-4
All up to Jimmy Mullen now
#18 Mullen vs #15 Koy Hopke
Mullen has had two takedown waived off by refs. Challenge thrown by Robie on second one.
Challenge denied. Zero all going to 2nd with Mullen on top.
Mullen still on top over 1M RT.
Mullen trails 1-0 after escape. Still has RT
Mullen with reversal to start 3rd. Up 2-1
Mullen wins 3-1.
Hokies lose the Dual 19-17.
Bonus points did us in.
Thanks for all the updates.
