Watching Wake and NC State tonight waiting for Commanders game to start. They are doing the whole review again on TV tonight which is good.
Interested to see how Georgia Tech and Clemson turns out.
Can Wisconsin send Alabama to 1-2?
Miami hosting USF should tell us what we need to know about Da U.
Texas A&M at Notre Dame should be a good one.
What else are you watching?

Chris Barnes, WR #10 for Wake is a nightmare.
He has a 98 yard Kickoff return for TD and 70 yard catch to set up another TD already in the 1st quarter.
No problem. Our shut down secondary and excellent kick coverage will totally nullify him when we play them.
Wake's LBs look like ours so far. State QB Bailey may eat us alive running the ball.
Think I'd consider them an upgrade.
I cant wait for us to beat ODU handedly so everyone is back one board only to beat Wofford 12-3
It's gonna take way, way more than that to get me back on board, and I suspect I'm not alone
Thousands of dozens based on the temperature of every thread in the football forum.
I didn't expect anything this year and was already off the 2025 ride before it started, but going winless this year wouldn't surprise me at this point. The bigger questions I have are what happens first - does Whit fire Pry? if so, how many losses is it going to take? Or, does Sands fire Whit, and then relieve Pry?
Anybody else suddenly mooch more worried about Wake?
I'm worried about every team we play these days
EDIT: Mainly cause I'm so worried about ours
no, but that's because I really don't care about the '25 season. I haven't seen a snap so far this season, but based on the results, French's write-ups, anecdotes from the threads, AND looking at the spread for this weekend, I don't think we're beating any FBS opponents this year. We're currently -6.5 against ODU... we were -3.5 against Vandy, and that obviously wasn't how the final ended. ODU kept things tight against an Indiana team that is showing last year wasn't a fluke, and I almost expect us to have a similar result this weekend to what we had last weekend. Wofford may be the only game remaining on our schedule that will have a meaningful 4th quarter, and I'm sure the football team will find a way to gift Wofford the win.
So to get back to you question - no i'm not worried about Wake. At best I think we're 1-4 going into the game and the season is already done. We might also be 0-5, Pry is fired, and Price is the one trying to salvage a burning ship that has maybe 20k fans in the stadium.
here I am hoping Duke beats NCSU so that ticket prices plummet and I can get cheapo tix to the VT NCSU game (we're going no matter what, but knowing that we're going to get clobbered, I'd really rather not pay out the wazoo for the privilege)
Worth checking with the Hokie ticket office...maybe some HC members who bought tickets for @NCSU are thinking of handing them back now, lol
Oregon/Northwestern and BC/Stanford are conference games, smh
Won't be watching, but I'm interested in the outcome of the USCe vs Vanderbilt game. I think Vandy pulls it off.
Indiana going full throttle on Indiana State tonight. 52-0 after first drive of second half
What a stat line for Indiana starting QB
19 for 20 for 270 yards and 5 TDs plus 19 yards rushing and another TD .... in less than 3 quarters.
Syracuse seems to have taken those post game sprints last week seriously. Smacking Colgate around 38-3 right before halftime
Colorado looks less than pedestrian on offense tonight against Houston
...as soon as I said it they get a penalty to extend a drive and then go 80 yards downfield.
Colorado just got bailed out on a defensive facemask of the QB because officials decided to call the QB for grounding too. QB being facemasked called for grounding just seems another level of bullshit.
The penalty would have given Houston a first down in the red zone and allowed them to at least run the clock out on the first half. Instead Colorado got the ball now with a minute forty to work after long Houston FG.
...and now Colorado gets a touchdown on ensuing drive so potential 14 point swing thanks to really questionable officiating.
Could have been 20-7 Houston but now looks like it will be 16-14 going to the half.
Arizona KSU has been a good one so far although terrible offense on both sides. Arizona should probably be up 2 or 3 TDs but can't finish.
UCLA and Nico... woof. I've pointed out the investment Duke made in the offseason as the worst overall NIL play, but Nico's decision (or was it his dad's) to spur UT, and take less money overall after trying to hold the Vols hostage - the dude went from a likely NFL draft pick this upcoming offseason to someone who may not even have any 1yr NIL deals.
Nico deserves it.
To quote the McDonald's commercial:
I'm lovin' it!
Damn UCLA might be worst P4 team this season. Can we finally stop with the Deion coaching hype? KSU has fallen hard since preseason expectations.
Amen on Deion. The Buffs barely had a pulse on offense outside of a few chunk plays. I expect to see Salter back as starting QB next week for Colorado. Staub had 2 picks and 2 fumbles although Colorado recovered his fumbles. Their defense did well for 2nd and 3rd quarters but we're gassed in the 4th. TOP was 36:45-23:15 in favor of Houston.
KSU was another no offense, decent defense team last night. TOP 36:55-23:05 in favor of Arizona. KSU had seven 3 or 4 plays and out. They went for it 4 times on 4th down and converted none of them.
I only watched about 10 minutes of UCLA before turning it off as it wasn't worth watching.
Arizona running back had like 220+ all purpose yards. He was great, Fifita was also really good. I would love to have Fifita as our QB.
Georgia Tech has a half-filled stadium for their biggest game of year vs. Clemson.
We would KILL to switch rosters and coaching staffs with them.
Fucking joke, we deserve better than what we have.
100% this. They also don't deserve this good of a team. For all the talk about GTs football history and their somewhat sleeping giant status, the fact is that GT football is an afterthought even for GT fans.
Mrs Mattboard is making apple crisp while football is on.
I love fall
What time is dinner? Ill bring the ice cream and beer.
If you're in Chattanooga and don't mind dogs, feel free to swing by
Klempson fumble in their own territory, GT misses wide open receiver on 3rd and 3 settles for FG
Jackets playing hard and fierce. Reminds me of how we used to play
The wrong Tech team led by a Brent is doing well. Our aim was off this whole time
We missed theBoard
Clemsuck does the Brotherly Shove wrong, they're taking another look but I don't think he got it
Virginia is up 42 to 7 over William and Mary and are looking pretty good (end of the 1st half). W&M's only TD was on a busted coverage. I realize W&M is not a powerhouse program but uva is looking strong.
Their offense can score, but their defense can't stop anyone in FBS
GT has run some stupid 4th down plays today.
And their defense gave up a 3rd and 22 conversion earlier, which looked more familiar
Barring those this game is already over
KlemPsoning
Bahahaha, looks like Clemsoning's back on the menu, boys!
I just caught the last 2 minutes or so. Is Clemson just not very good or is Georgia Tech actually good? Or maybe a bit of both? Did not imagine Clemson 1-2 and not even looking that good in the win.
Mix of both. GT should have already been ranked and Klubnik has looked pedestrian so far.
Thank you. Have not seen them play, but just the scores, man it seems like the offense must be quite bad.
Klubnik got sped up by LSU and has not slowed down since. Lot of happy feet plays.
Um, isnt that just how he plays?
Not really the last two seasons. Seems really rushed in his decision making this season and has had time to make plays.
Nah he just straight up isn't good unless he's playing a wildly less talented team
Part of me is like "well, a lot of teams are having terrible seasons"
And then I realize Clemson, Kansas St, Florida all probably still curb stomp us
Yup
If Haynes King can make it through this season healthy, GT will be very dangerous. Huge IF though.
Yeah I didn't think he was getting up after that second down play at the end. He just laid there face down not moving for more than five seconds.
Lmao. The sideline reporter at the end of the GT game there: "the students here are chanting your name, King. How does that make you feel?"
King: "I mean, it makes me feel good."
Top notch Q and A there π
No way VT gets that field goal off in 26 seconds.
Pitt QB out here missing receivers like Drones. Panthers should be up 14-0 but 0-0 after 1st.
Pitt QB with the Red Zone interception now to keep them scoreless
what's so disheartening is that i work with almost entirely git folks (other than me and a junior from clemson) and literally (LITERALLY) none of them cares about football, they're like stereotypes and allergic to sports and need diffyq as an epipen. our CTO was a student during their mnc and didn't even remember it.
Now Tennessee's QB is lighting up Georgia. Where did he play before? Fucking App State, right in our backyard.
But Pry has to be "loyal" to Drones even though he fired both of his coordinators.
I hate everything.
Did we have the NIL money to compete with Tennessee?
Aguilar and Drones' NIL deals are similar.
Who knows. Our coaches are too busy believing drones is going to figure it out in his 5th year of college to scout for actual talent.
He was at UCLA between App St and Tenn. I doubt he'd be competent in Bburg especially with our OL. That Tenn offense can make any JAG look good and someone with talent like Hooker into a Heisman contender.
Vick got his first coaching win last week over Virginia State. This week they are being paid to lose to Rutgers but keeping it close. Rutgers got a blocked kicked turned TD but it's only 13-3 close to halftime.
Pitt now 2 for 12 on 3rd down and most of it is self destruction. Wide open receivers and the Cow can't hit them.
Am I crazy, or is there not a rule that a half can't end on a defensive penalty? WVU gets a first down with one second left and Pitt is charged with a late hit unsportsmanlike 15 yarder. ACC refs say the half is over because WVU is out of timeouts and there isn't 3 seconds to snap and spike the ball. Don't the rules stipulate an untimed down? Must be the same crew that worked our Miami game last year.
No the replay guy explained the rule. Said that since the penalty was after the play the clock would have run and rule requires 3 seconds to extend play since WVU did not have a timeout.
I agree with your sentiment though. Seems like it shouldn't be that way though. I imagine WVU will take that to NCAA to demand a rule change after season.
The penalty would have put WVU in FG range to boot.
It seems odd because then you just take cheap shots when there aren't timeouts. Seems like a bad rule.
So I guess the question for me is if the clock had run out on the play where the late hit was called, then would they have gotten another play? It just seems convoluted.
GT ending was fantastic. Sadly though it makes me not optimistic about our game vs GT
Yeah if Haynes King is upright against us we are cooked. GT will be ranked next week.
Pitt getting a lot of favorable calls in this one. The latest was a really really soft unsportsmanlike penalty on WVU that put Pitt in the Red Zone and led to a TD.
I dont know how PSU does it but every year they basically only have 2 real games and can end up 10 and 2 with beating mostly bad teams. This year they would have to beat Indiana, but thats doable. How do they never get a murders row schedule.
They either exclusively schedule cupcakes in their non-con or get lucky. A few years back they did a home and home with Auburn, who happened to be coached by Bryan Harsin and were thoroughly mediocre.
but they get lucky in conference every year it's seems
True. They used to have to play Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan St (back when they were good) every year due to the division setup. Now they don't have any permanent conference opponents.
They're the new Wisconsin
Nardouche gets just desserts for not having the balls to either kick a long FG or go for it on a 4 and 4 in plus territory. WVU ties it with 11 seconds left. Pitt blows a 10 point lead in final 4 minutes.
GA needs to challenge that last run... their guy was definitely over the line
there it is... UT wastes away a 4th quarter lead.
Nardouche about to lose the Backyard Brawl. Love it!!!!
Pitt now facing 4th and Forever down a TD in OT. Can't believe how they gifted this to WVU.
Game set match....So much for Fire Rich Rod chants.
BLAHHHHH HAHAHAHA. FUCK NARDOUCHE!!!!
UGA beat Tenn on a walk off replay TD. I suppose I am happy with this.
I'm enjoying the Miami game. Notre Dame is up early too so I've got those two going for me.
I know it's only against Arkansas State and I know they didn't look very impressive doing it, but still have to say it:
Cyclones!!!!
4-0 and top 15 ranking!
Hey, I need something to cheer for.
Id be ecstatic if VT could beat Arkansas St.
I'd be ecstatic if VT could beat Yale.
I'd be ecstatic if VT could beat a drum
At least Baylor won big, so Frosty is happy. Wonder if we could beat Samford? Not Stanford, but Samford:
https://samfordsports.com/sports/football
Damn. Apparently brutal injury in ND/A&M. Cart, back board and everything. Prayers for Bryce Anderson.
Another one in Ole Miss/Arkansas
Sellers knocked out of SCar/Vandy so we won't get an accurate read on better team there
Tulane is getting payback for stealing their QB
Notre Dame still ranked at 0-2....comical
Is it? They lost two very close games at the last second to a top 10 and top 15 team.
They have as many wins as we do
