I mean good for him. I'm sure he'll have as great a positive impact on the CFP as he did for us while being here.

When can Brad Cornelson start?
I turned to my buddy in the 4th quarter this weekend and said "I never thought I'd say this but I think I miss Cornelson."
Did you also have flashbacks to Sean Glennon when the line was letting Drones take a beating in the third and fourth? Everybody in the stadium knew Vandy was bringing the house but apparently our offense.
Seems somewhat out of leftfield...
Also, just what exactly does a "senior advisor" to the CFP do? And how does one get such a job?...the word deal certainly implies there is compensation involved..
I have been about as close to getting a team to the CFP as Justin Fuente
Must be good at making coffee
Say what you want about Fuente but he's a football nerd through and through. He would be a great addition.
Damn now we'll never qualify for the CFP! /s
His former chief of staff works there - feels like a hire of someone you know
Danielle (Bartlestein) Tyler
They must just be the best of friends. In all seriousness, there must be familial history there going back awhile.
Is she married to Jack Tyler of Virginia Tech?
Yes.
Good for him and can I be honest? After the past 3+ years, Fuente was a blessing in plenty of ways. from 2016-2020 we had 4 straight seasons of being ranked in the top 25 at some point, and as high as #13-15 during some periods. Sure, maybe he benefitted from some Beamer recruits, but the program wasn't exactly the creme de crop in 2014-2015 right before he got there. 2021 got ugly, but the Fuente era provided much more to get excited about than the current coaching staff has been able to put together.
I seem to remember "left the cupboard dry" being one of the things they said about him when he was fired.
Fuente was exciting the first year he coached, but the program was drifting down from average during his tenure.
His tenure was effectively over when Whit wouldn't let him bring in Barry Odom as DC as well as hire the additional staff support positions he'd been promised. More than a little irony in Whit being the one to ask BoV for additional resources.
