Chris Marve Promoted to University of Colorado DC

Sanders promoted Chris Marve to defensive coordinator after the departure of Robert Livingston, who recently took a job with the Denver Broncos as their passing game coordinator and secondary coach. Livingston spent two seasons with the Buffaloes, including the year Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy as a two-way standout.

Marve was the defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Virginia Tech from 2022 to 2024. He took a job with Colorado in December as the linebackers coach.

Good for him. Still think he's really smart still not confident he can adjust his defenses very well or develop line backers but wish him the best.

Is he our defensive scot loeffler?

No. Loeffler "coached" Tebow and Brady. How much actual coaching he did is up for debate, but he got those jobs and didn't make those players worse.

Marge's resume as a coach is just... not great? Didn't have any great lbs at fsu, didn't really have a good defense here... not much going on

Tebow's QB rating got worse from frosh to senior year, His TD to int ratio got worse So->Sr year. And everyone was complaining that UF didnt fix his throwing motions.

Brady showed very little progression in college but stats did slightly improve in hsi 2nd year starting so yes he didnt regress Tom.

Best of luck to him. Hopefully he kicks ass and does great things. Didn't work out at VT but he was always a stand up guy and represented us well.

Lets be honest, Marve based on the talent we had didnt do terrible. They weren't clutch though. They werent a Bud Foster live in the backfield. Never could seem to get the one late game stop they needed to turn a game.

If I was facing Colorado this year I would run the Rutgers play 15 times.

If I was facing Colorado this year I would run the Rutgers play 15 times...every series

FTFY

Pretty sure the opposing team would have scored long before they had to run 15 plays.

Always good to see a Hokie move up.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

On this note, Shawn Quinn was hired as the DC at Liberty. Apologies if this has been shared here already, but I don't think I saw it talked about.

Seems like they've been trending down since Chadwell's first year, but still a little surprising to see Quinn land as a coordinator at the FBS level.
