Hell Yes! I've always thought if Russell could lead the Seahawks, then Tyrod could do the same, if not better for an NFL team!

I don't think anyone will mistake the supporting cast in Buffalo for that of Seattle. I do think Buffalo will be a pretty good team in the AFC East if Tyrod keeps up with his preseason form.

Edit: Similar team set ups with strong defenses though.

The one caveat I would give here is that with the exception of Beast Mode, Buffalo does have some dynamic offensive weapons for Tyrod to use. Watkins, McCoy, Robert Woods, Percy Harvin. More so than Wilson has ever had in Seattle really, and the defense is not that far off that they have built there in Buffalo.

Tyrod helps to alleviate the biggest hole Buffalo has, which is their OL.

If only Buffalo had a chance to have a player like Beast Mode on their roster.....oh wait

The Dude Abides

Might not be that far off. Buffalo has a silly amount of speed at skill positions and a very good defense. (Maybe not Seattle good, but one of the best in the league)

AWESOME! Will definitely be pulling for the Bills.

Draft pick PAID OFF!!!!

Hallelujah!

Fuck yeah!!!!

He is in a position where he can continue to develop as a passer while utilizing the offensive weapons around him and hopefully being able to rely on what should be a good defense. Potentially a very VT-esque situation he could find himself in and we all know he performs in the clutch and makes plays when they are needed. I am thrilled that he is finally getting his shot.

And Magically I am a Bills fan when they aren't playing the Colts!! Couldn't be happier for a more deserving guy.

Yeeessssss!!!!!!!

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

TYROD! TYROD! TYROD!!!

@AMB4VT

Now I have to add the Bills to one of the NFL teams I want to be successful this year! Tyrod did it Mikey! Tyrod did it!!

Man, your post just reminded me of our biggest preseason loss of all. Gonna miss Bill Roth.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Bill Roth comes through!

Tyrod should do very well in Buffalo. That offense is almost an exact clone of what he is used to from VT. Playmaking running back, reliable yet unproven WRs, and a suspect OL. Sounds familiar to me.

...Defense up the wazoo. Fuck yeah

I'm confused - didn't they announce not too long ago that Cassell was the starter?

I never saw anything about Cassell being announced the starter. You might be thinking of when he was announced the starter for a preseason game.

It was after the pre-season game, so not sure what context it was in.

This is correct, it was for the preseason game.

@hokie_rd

It was a graphic on Fox Sports, but they forgot a question mark at the end of it. It was quickly taken down and fixed after a mild Twitter storm, e.g. "Matt Cassell to be Bills Starter" vs. "Matt Cassell to be Bills Starter?"

"Exit light..."

This might be it. I don't remember which channel I saw it on, but possibly this.

The teleprompter guy from Anchorman does their graphics, and is terrified of including a question mark ever again.

@historyhokie.bsky.social

perfect

I'd like to go ahead and take the Bills as Superbowl champions please

It took 5 years. But HELL YES!

Also: 5 years. FIVE. Tyrod had his plan all along...

Best part about this is maybe he can quiet the Tom Brady is a god talk when Tyrod beats them twice this year.

Place your Bills to the Super Bowl bets now

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

In the midst of this Redskins circus and being an ashamed yet loyal fan, this just made my day. T-squared is the MAN!!!

Congrats Tyrod and this won't be the first time you beat EJ

I wish this were happening on a team that doesn't have Rex Ryan as the head coach, but glad Tyrod is getting a shot.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

Rex may not get in the way. Plus he has the OC from the 49ers when Kapernick was really good. The playbook really fits well with T-mobiles strengths as well as probably the most shifty backfield in the NFL. Won't have to do much with you have Shady McCoy to give the ball to or Sammy Watkins, or Percy Harvin, or saftey value is Charles Clay. Looks pretty good to me.

"Welcome to the Terror Dome." -- Corey Moore

Agreed. I think it's more a matter of not wanting to see Rex Ryan succeed, but in the end I'd rather root for a Hokie than root against a coach.

Tyrod is undefeated against EJ Manuel in life.

Shame they don't play the Ravens this year. Would have loved to have seen him hang 40 on them

Wild card round of the playoffs possibly.

Bills fans look to be excited about it

They get a stand up guy who is a heck of a QB as their field general, what is there not to be excited about?

Looks like I'm a Bills fan this year.

I took Tyrod in Round 16 of my 2QB league. Pretty happy about that pick right now.

Edit: For clarification, took him as my 3rd QB on the roster, but certainly worth starting for matchups.

Shoot I picked up Tyrod off of waivers in another league that decided to have the draft three weeks ago. That was such a steal it should be illegal.

I did the same thing even though our league is only 1 QB

Every second counts

I'm looking over the Bills schedule to see what games we should be able to see in Virginia (i.e., not at the mercy of regional rules)

October 25 "at" Jags (in London), 9:30 AM...streamed on Yahoo
November 12 at Jets....NFL Network...wait, why does that date look familiar....freaking same night as VT/GT??? This is why Thursday night football needs to go away.
November 23 at Patriots -- ESPN Monday Night Football
December 20 at Redskins -- on CBS...not national, but we get all of the Redskin games here

NFL Thursday night football needs to go away. College needs to stay.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

I have redzone so I should be able to see most of his playing SINCE THEY'RE GOING TO BE IN THE RED ZONE ALL THE DAMN TIME NOW.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

I see what ya did there... leg.

On the bright side he did make one of his most spectacular plays of his college career that game.

What kind of trick are you trying to pull here? This is not accurate at all. Tyrod is wearing a cold weather cap and the drumline is in tank tops.

Because he's just that cool!

Did the Bills just become my 2nd team?! YES

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

So how many TKPers doing fantasy are shooting to draft Tyrod #1?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Their running game will be too strong. He will be a game manager, not a huge producer... see Russell Wilson.

"What are you going to do, stab me? - Quote from Man Stabbed

Russell Wilson? You mean the guy that's QB3 in ESPN's fantasy rankings? That Russell Wilson?

Yes, but in addition to your sarcasm...

I always choose unproven QBs that might be replaced by someone else week 2 if they do not perform as expected (I certainly hope not). And, I always make sure that I take a gamble at QB or RB when I have money on the line. Also, make sure you check out Russell Wilson's rookie year when he killed it, and won so many people their Fantasy Football leagues.

Flashback: Tyrod Taylor, 2011 NFL draft. He was projected as a WR prospect, to which he said:

"I'm a quarterback."

You damn right you are, Tyrod.

Congrats!

This makes me happy for T-Mobile and his momma and daddy.

I just realized that Clark Ruhland is right by the ticker.

Just have to figure out who to drop from my fantasy team

I would love to see Tyrod and Bruce together on sidelines Monday night.

Stop it with the Negative Waves!

I think TT has the week off after Thursday! Again if he is there we win. The Taylor KAVOKA will rule lane.

Does this mean that Harvin now has to sleep with Tyrod's wife?

All the QB's up there have been on fire. Me thinks TT's intangibles won the spot. Glad as hell he got the call! I lived in Buf as a little kid when the Bills were in the upstart AFL. Jack Kemp the former congressman was the starting QB. My favorite team was the Chargers because they had the coolest unis with the lightening bolt on the helmet. john Hadle, Lance Alworth and the gang. We actually got to play our LL football championship game before and during half timeof the Bills / Raiders game. Waiting to get back into our seats at the end of half time I looked up and Jim Otto old number 00 looked down at me and said "good game boy". Never will forget that. Done rambling! F#$% I am old!

Oh F#$% any fsu QB!

So pumped. Was worried they were going to go with EJ for a while there.

Yeah this sums up how I felt. So relieved.

Felt like watching a son of mine out there

his job is safe for at least a few weeks, after Simms doing this...
