Well well well, 1-1 aint to shabby and was basically what I was expecting at this point anyway (hopeful shibe was thinking otherwise buttt you cant win em all). Regardless this weeks takes us up to big ten country in the midwest which, much like the rest of the country has been experiencing some incredible weather for the last week or so until today. (trust me I live there). Over the last week or so the jet stream has been very calm and undisturbed. There was more or less one trough that was hanging out over the central US that was dragging its feet a little bit (and kind of weak as well) that eventually worked its way through, and behind it there wasn't a ridge or anything just steady calm winds. This prevented any kind of ascension as far as the air goes and thus allowed us to have pretty moderate temperatures with little to no breeze. Of course all good things must come to an end however as our next system gets ready to start shaping up.
me in the mornings over the last week
Theres a trough building up well...right on top of me right now up in Wisconsin we missed a front earlier as it headed just south but we were fortunate to get hit with the next wave which produced some impressive lightning. As it stretches across the country expect it to give our football team a little bit of a storm as they drive up and prepare for the game Friday night, I'd expect it to hit VA by next Monday or Tuesday (probably leaning towards Tuesday more-so)

at least its not forecasted for the next home game!
Anyway with Saturday rolling around and the picture becoming much more clear in recent days things are looking decent for the 2:30 kickoff. The morning is going to be ugly and dreary with about a quarter of an inch of rain coming down, hopefully dampening what few fans they have spirits (at least they have more than UVA amiright?!)
Lets take a second to laugh at UVA and their "fans"

HA

HAHAHAHAHA

OH MAN IT NEVER GETS OLD! THERES SO MANY
the rain should ease up by kickoff but really what has me concerned is the wind. With what looks like a low coming over the lake and bringing a cold front across the central united states, the winds are picking up A LOT of speed and strength. Look for gusts around 20 mph in a very windy midwest day. LUCKILY I feel like we have the advantage in a windy sort of game in that they rely much more than we do on their passing game. This game is probably going to be won via the running game and hopefully we can cram it down their throats while in their passing game the few lofted balls they throw lead to easy picks for the defense.

I expect it to play out much like I just mentioned, for the second game in a row mother nature certainly isnt doing motley any favors. At least neither have been nooners (for yalls sake), but for the love of god I want him to be able to play in a standard clear sunny day and watch him zip it to the receivers. Once again I expect our run game to hurt them bad and really impose its will on the game and I expect the offensive line to continue its growth. I fully expect the defense to wreak havoc in the opponents backfield and as a result force some lofted passes which will hang more than usual due to the wind. Fully expect a Fuller pick Saturday (hopefully a facyson one as well). I really expect our passing game to struggle but hopefully it doesn't matter and the run game can get the job, I expect us to put up less offense than we did against Furman but I do still expect a W

NOW FOR THE RESEARCH
So this weeks been super busy so I've only been able to briefly look through the numbers and log some, what Ive noticed so far is....We're really freaking lucky when it comes to weather on game days, seriously I don't think i count more than one game a season with incliment weather (the exception being Tyrods sophmore year when we had one rainy game and then the duke game which was COLD). Regardless I do see an obvious trend in statistics, points seem to be WAY down in rainy games, and interestingly enough (something I never looked into before) but fumble numbers go WAY up on windy days as well as picks. the 05 season had a game against duke with 6 (!!!!) Fumbles in a single game. Hopefully I can find some time in this next week to crunch the numbers and get em into excel before really looking into them for trends and stuff! I apollogize about the delay and I really hope you guys are as excited as I am to look at some of these trends, some of them will be obvious (drops in a cold game) but ones like fumbles in windy games....never thought about it

sorry guys
Anyway
