Farewell to Fuente on Memphis Fan Site

Was interested in comments on Fuente from the Memphis community and found this article:

I love the fact that Fuente is leaving Memphis with mutual respect. Sure there is sorrow on what could have been but, at least from this article, no bitterness. Love to see that and it's a testament to Fuente's character. Here is a nice piece from the article's summation:

The U of M will have a new coach soon enough. He'll have a tough act to follow, probably the toughest since Spook Murphy hung up his whistle (and was succeeded by Pancoast) 43 years ago. Can Memphis become a "destination job" as the expression goes? That depends entirely on the man who accepts the call. Can Memphis win a lot of football games and beat the big boys from the SEC now and then? Certainly. Justin Fuente showed us how. We'll miss you, Coach. And thanks.

Has anyone else seen anything interesting?

Not from Memphis, but I did enjoy this article about Justin Fuente's time in college.

His college coach at OU, John Blake wouldn't speak to him and Fuente was getting a raw deal. They say he was pretty broken and then he went to Murray State where he slowly found his love for the game of football again. That led to him becoming a QB coach for Illinois State and the rest was history.

He was also a SI 'Face in the Crowd' in high school

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

that was a pretty solid Faces in the Crowd

Shane Beamer to Memphis!!

My question: is he bringing any players with him from Memphis that could really help us out???
