Former Delaware guard Kory Holden committed to USC(e) earlier today. He had narrowed his list to the Gamecocks, Virginia Tech and Baylor, and was on campus in Blacksburg yesterday.
Delaware transfer Kory Holden is on Virginia Tech's campus until tomorrow. Then Baylor on Friday. Already visited South Carolina. 17.7 PPG— Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) April 24, 2016
ESPN's Jeff Goodman has Holden ranked as the second best available transfer, and would have been a nice addition as Seth Allen's replacement after he sat a year due to transfer rules. But due to the fact that he would've had to sit out, and Buzz Williams and company are reportedly interested in multiple prospects in this recruiting cycle, it's not necessarily a huge blow.
Here's Holden's highlights in case you wanted to know what Buzz missed out on (a little Erick Green-y to me)

It just amazes me that some kid woke up and said, "I'm going to go play basketball for Frank Martin!"
Not that surprising considering the complete overhaul South Carolina invested in their basketball program. Major overhaul completed in 2015 on the interior of Carolina Coliseum, to include all new office spaces, lockers rooms, weight room and upgraded practice facilities that are all located inside the Coliseum, combined with a brand new dormitory directly across the street from the Coliseum. Thats just the upgrades to the basketball facilities and doesnt include major investments in about another half dozen sports.
Couple all that with the fact that as the roster stands now, Holden will likely start at USCe as soon as he is eligible and competition wise, the SEC will allow him to shine a bit more than if he had come to the ACC where he would have been an equal to type player rather than the star of the show. Thats the only downside to how well Buzz does everything else. We have the talent that is equal to or better than Holden already on the roster. Hell, some of the talent transferring out might be better than Holden. Its a much better problem to have than we are used to.
I know it may sound like sour grapes but the loss of Holden does not concern me. I do hate we were not able to get Diallo, to me he would have fit our needs much more. We just have to hope Buzz will continue to recruit hard.
Do we have a complete list of transfers VT has offered? All I've seen are bits and pieces, such as Holden.
I believe Buzz will, indeed, continue to recruit hard. His focus and intensity demand it. If he sticks around a while, I suspect we'll start getting those kids we really hate to miss out on.
Who are we going for now? It would be nice for a recruiting update for basketball
I don't know much about this site, but here's more on Evan Maxwell:
Liberty big man
At 6-10, sounds like he could be a great addition to our undersized roster
