Via CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein:
Michigan will host Virginia Tech in next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, sources told @CBSSports.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 23, 2016
It'll be a great early test for the Hokies. If you remember, last season's challenges away from home against big schools (neutral site vs Iowa State and St. Joeseph's) didn't go so well, but obviously this Tech team is in a much better place.
According to Rothstein, the rest of the Challenge breaks down like this:
Ohio State @ UVA
Michigan State @ Duke
Syracuse @ Wisconsin
North Carolina @ Indiana
Purdue @ Louisville
Georgia Tech @ Penn State
Wake Forest @ Northwestern
Rutgers @ Miami
Minnesota @ Florida State
Nebraska @ Clemson
Pittsburgh @ Maryland
NC State @ Illinois
Iowa @ Notre Dame

It was a catch.
Why you.....beat me to it by a mere 18 hours and 38 mins!!
And I thought I was clever!
I feel like this is a good sign for the way the program is being perceived. I know they try and schedule somewhat even matchups, and the fact that we are matched with Michigan and not Northwestern is encouraging.
(Disclaimer: I don't actually know how good UM is supposed to be next year, but I do know they have made the tournament before, something Northwestern has not done.)
They literally schedule down the line ACC vs Big Ten based on the conference standings the previous year. The big question was how the ACC was going to handle Louisville, as we easily could have left them out because of their ineligibility last year. Had they been out, we'd have been playing Ohio State, but they're in, so they get Ohio St, and we get Mich... everyone else below us falling into place.
You sure?
Rutgers (Dead last) vs. Miami (3rd)
MSU (2nd) vs. Duke (5th)
Purdue (3rd) vs. UVA (2nd)
Wisconsin (6th) vs. Syracuse (10th)
I believe they also try to alternate home/away, so the first team on a home rotation plays the first on an away, or some version of that. Not sure if they also avoid rematches or not, but I think that is why it does not go straight down the records.
In spite of the wrongful and disappointing ending (yes, it was a catch, or at least close enough so there's no way in hell that the call on the field should have ever been overturned), and some weird plays (WTF was that fake punt?), that was a great game to experience. It was a heartbreaker, but VT fans represented.
"VT fans represented"
THERE'S an understatement.
I love this gif, Will Wheaton loves this gif.

Now, can we get that score update removed?
that gif always a +1 from me
Based on the entire lineup, I feel like we really got a good deal this time around.

Hopefully Michigan gets no favor from the Refs this time around.
It won't be PAC12 refs thank God...
And Boston College is left out this year. How do they determine which school doesn't get matched up? Standings?
It is whoever finished last the previous season unless they did not participate in the ACC/Big Ten challenge, then it is the 2nd to last place team.
It was a catch.
That picture brings pain to my memories. Friggin' Replay Refs...
Not sent to bring pain. Just a reminder on how bad we were screwed. PAC 12 ass holes can stay on the Left coast.
Good to see Maryland playing a team that replaced them instead of rewarding them with an old rivalry. Easy to root for Pitt in that one.
Theoretically, a team should be left out every year from the challenge in the ACC. Has Tech ever been left out?
Per Wikipedia (so grain of salt, and all that):
and people claim the acc doesn't care about us!
Really looking forward to this matchup.
Big fan of Beilein's teams - I have a soft spot for the guy since I was lucky enough to ballboy a bunch of UR games during his tenure.
Brian, I heard on the radio this morning about your promotion and new once-a-week on-air spot and just wanted to say congratulations. You an Wes make a good team.

EDIT: Reply fail
Can't wait to catch this game!
I caught what you did there
Good catch, Devonte!

This was just posted in the local paper here in Mississippi. Should be a pretty good schedule for Buzzketball.
