Former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris announced Sunday that he would transfer to North Carolina for his final season.
Harris, who lost the LSU starting job last season in Week 2, expects to graduate this summer and be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
Meh, I think they'll still be back to being a mediocre ACC Coastal team.

Funny, LSU fan literally just texted me, "Well this is good news for you guys and the rest of the ACC."
He must've liked the "class schedule."
"Oh you're already graduating? Come play for us and get your Ph.D.! in one semester!"
I feel like it's typical to think he's bad because of his time at LSU, but who knows how he does at UNC. Personally a little bit more worried than the rest of you guys probably will be.
Dude is like a 45% career passer, which is pretty elite for the sport UNC actually likes. Maybe they got confused?
45% is coincidentally also the passing grade for UNC academic classes.
Well, they DO double the scores, you know.
My wife is finishing up her Masters at UNC in May and their kicker Nick Weiler WAS in the program. Low and behold he is no longer in the program now that football season is over.
This is a very common practice at most schools. Certainly not unique to UNC, in fact, I am comfortably confident this has been the case for some of our players before.
If we're being honest about it, 90% of these guys that are doing grad transfers are doing it strictly for football. Most of these guys don't have a ton of interest in getting their bachelors, much less their masters.
If they are a grad transfer they have their bachelors already.
Sorry was unclear, I was referencing the UNC kicker dropping out of his masters program after the season. What I meant is most of those guys are just in class to be eligible for football
On this note, let's say you were hypothetically a Miami fan...are you more afraid of AJ Bush transfer to VT or this guy to UNC?
It depends because Harris is much more likely to start at UNC than Bush is at VT.
Also, Brandon Harris was a winning, starting QB for one of the best college football programs in the country. Their resumes are not even remotely comparable.
We can discuss if LSU won because of Harris or despite him, but I think that's another subject entirely.
I think we'd agree on that for the most part, but the fact remains he was the starter at LSU and Bush was the backup at Iowa Wesleyan(?) or whatever. Their resumes remain unequal.
This is a fair point.
Ok now what.
Miami fans and UVA fans look a lot alike
Hey. Don't knock their "aluminum effect" game. It's the most popular game of the year.
Wouldn't it be ironic if UNC called their yearly game vs Miami as the Hurricane Effect game? They'd lose it annually, of course (as tradition dictates).
what is this gif from? from a omg that's gotta hurt point of view, guy lands on the worst part of the weir.
Pretty sure that's Javert, played by Russell Crowe, eating it on the River Seine from Les Miserables.
Miami fan would say "AJ who?". Guy didn't even start at his JUCO and in the limited snaps he had he threw an abysmal td/int ratio. IMO he was brought in to show the younger guys the ropes about preparation moreso than actually competing for the starting job.
We will SETTLE this when we WALKER on the field!

Terrible pocket presence, panics under pressure, inaccurate, makes poor decisions, Senior, terrible mechanics, loves to throw off his back foot and on the move
Has all of the physical tools, very mobile (could be dangerous on the read option)
Verdict: Not particularly worried, I dont think Fedora is a QB whisperer and I dont think Harris is particularly well polished, his best plays appear to come on broken down plays. Very little rhythym which is terrible news for UNC's offense
How well does he play in the rain?
It never rains in a Tiger Stadium, although Les Miles would comment on the "heavy dew"
During day games in Death Valley you can smell the bourbon in the stands. During night games in Death Valley, you can smell the bourbon on the field.
Those clips are also against one of the best defenses. Wisconsin defense is scary.
look at his stats weekly, the only games he preformed well in were 2015 against new mexico state and a game where he had 8 attempts against Mississippi State. He's just not that good, REALLY inaccurate, the worrying part is the fact that even when he had time and was in rhythm his throws were high and off target. Also of note, he seems to have gotten worse from year to year. The guy was really not coached up well at all, kinda feel for him he has ALL of the physical tools
What I gather from this is Bud Foster is probably drooling for the first chance to use robber coverage against him next season.
He's an SEC quarterback. That's not a compliment.
Isn't that the guy who plays for the mets?
FTFY
Good, he's some major suckage
He'll be competing for the starting job against former VT commit Logan Byrd. I think he was 4*. I believe they also have another 4* QB in the same class as Byrd. It's likely Harris won't even see any playing time.
I think he will be their starter, Harris didn't transfer to ride the bench elsewhere. UNC's aggressive focus on the highest profile grad transfers (Zaire, Harris) makes me think he will likely be the starter. I'm not saying he won't have to compete, but this leads me to assume that Fedora was not confident with what he had on the roster. If nothing else he has a huge edge in experience, which can be critical.
My thoughts on Brandon Harris overall are not great, he struggled mightily to be a pro style QB, a serious square peg in a round hole situation. That said, he had a pretty good deep ball, particularly on deep posts. The offense he was in was not very QB friendly, he was asked to make critical throws without any rythym, his arm never even got warmed up in many games. I think it's silly to think he won't be more successful in Fedora's system, but I certainly don't expect him to be a world beater. Overall, I'm not that worried, and their offense lost a lot of offensive skill talent as well.
Tbh I'm just glad Ryan Switzer used up his 2,075,469,212,093rd year of eligibility and won't be on the field next year.
If he's going to graduate this summer, he will not have much practice time to learn a new system. I don't think there is much chance he wins the starting job, but could be in a QB rotation to bring more of a run element to the QB spot, like Wild Tar, or whatever they wold call it there.
Brewer did it here so you never know.
Good point, and you never know, but Brewer went from a pass first offense to a balanced one, which, as a non-expert, would seem easier as a QB than going from a run first to a pass first, The cupboard at VT was also not overflowing with competition at the time, even though Lawson was a 4*. But if the 4*s he's competing with aren't cutting it, which could be the case if they brought him in, he'd have a shot. Hopefully they brought him in because the current guys aren't up to snuff, and he isn't either. May the most turnover prone man win.
Curious how this will factor into Zaire's decision as UNC was apparently one of his top choices. Would much rather see this kid under center for the Heels than Zaire.
Zaire isn't going to a school where playing time isn't guaranteed, so UNC is now essentially out of the picture.
Oh I agree, Harris isn't even 1/2 of the QB Zaire is and he's obviously not going anywhere for a chance to start. Just fun to see dominoes fall and how it influences the other dominoes.
LSU had way more talent on offense than UNC will and he stunk there. The difference could be the coordinator.
And/or the commitment to use him as a runner. He's got power and speed.
But is a terrible passer.
LSU probably had the dumbest offensive scheme I've ever seen. They've just kept trying to hammer square pegs into round holes ever since Jimbo Fisher left. I know we would kill for an offense that finished 12th but how does an offense with Mettenberger, ODB, Jarvis Landry, Jeremy Hill, Alfred Blue and like 4 NFL offensive lineman not finish in the top 5?
I thought the failed ACC QBs went to the SEC, not the other way around.
Philip Sims says hi. But not to James Gayle.
