Take a break from Football Recruiting and enjoy the Buzz Williams semi-hype this off season. Virginia Tech lands at #6 edging out LOLUVA at #7. I guess Hooville will have to wait until Baseball Season again next year... or hopefully until Squash season after Whit's homerun hire in John Szefc (pronounced ""Kevin" ).

6. Hokies
We're still in Big Dance bid territory, and you should expect Buzz Williams to take advantage of a softer middle of the ACC next season. Virginia Tech loses Zach LeDay and Seth Allen, but everyone else is back -- and Chris Clarke will make one of the biggest jumps

7. Cavaliers
The Cavaliers lost point guard Perrantes; Nigel Johnson steps in as his replacement. Kyle Guy will need to make a leap into being the man for UVa to make the NCAAs.

Chris Clarke might not see the court.

Love him, but if he has to take a redshirt, I don't think it hurts as much as most will think.

What's the latest on him? I'm assuming he's had his surgery and started rehab, if not then will start pretty soon. I think it's been about five months.

Pretty sure he had surgery in February. Redshirt year wouldn't be a bad thing seeing as he wouldn't be fully good to go until late in the season. No need to burn a couple months of play if we can keep him around for an extra year with some solid recruits coming in.

Over on TSL, there are reports that Clarke was running sprints around a month ago. A surgeon who has worked on ACL injuries in athletes was also over there around the time of the injury saying that he will be cleared by August and 100% by October (before the season even starts.) He'll just need to get over the mental hurdle of trusting his knee again. He'll be fine for this season.

I think a lot of people are basing their guess off of what football ACL injury recovery time is like. Football is different than basketball, given the different types of cuts that are being made for each sport.
