Somebody is going to get a reality check on Sunday.
I hope it's these guys.
Reading that makes me appreciate actual football knowledge more than ever. We are very lucky to have the likes of French on here.
Smithfire13 with some actual sense.
That was hard to read. Last year I got some shit for calling the Tar Heels a bunch of pole smokers. Can I call the Mountaineers a bunch of pole smokers? Please?
What's a pole smoker and why did it get you in trouble...?
Its kinda like playing the skin flute
His predicted score after that write up was WVU 45 VT 17. If that's supposed to be "something in the middle" what exactly would the best case score be? 66-3?? It's so absurd I can't even wrap my head around it.
I think they all forgot that someone has to catch the ball.
And someone will... ...who's wearing Maroon.
Yes, mountain Jesus will lead the 'meets in both passing and receiving yards. He's that good, duh. /s
Something's smoking over there, but it ain't a musket.
This staffer gets it! I didn't know a smart WVU fan existed
My prediction 35-24 Hokies win. What I want - 52-3 giving up a garbage time field goal to the inbred, ignorant, hating neers.
And tomorrow, on the Q&A Preview...
I'm tempted to join their pick'em, win it, and then burn the t-shirt.
Most of those motherfuckers seem to have a tenuous grasp on the core concept of football. All of them play the 'it's gonna be evenly matched and close' card then like 3/4 of them pick woovoo by 3+ scores. Inbred fucking morons.
My fianc's grandpa got us tickets on the 50 yard line bottom level on the WVU side (he's a WVU alum but also likes Tech, oddly enough). The only rule is we have to wear at least one piece of clothing for each school. And hey, it's a $300 ticket, so if I have to wear a WVU hat, that's what I'll do (at least I won't be able to see it). So if you see a random dude in a VT jersey and a WVU hat in the middle of the 'eers, that's me and there's only one team I'm rooting for. The hat is as decorative as UNC's ethics oversight department.
If the WVU logo is placed the right way, you could sew a HokieBird patch on and then use some yellow thread to show that he's filling up the logo.
(I've always wanted to do that to a UVA or Miami hat, and even have the patches...but just can't bring myself to spend money on the hats.)
Get a white Nike hat with the swoosh on the back and turn in backwards. Problem solved.
I would have chosen WV socks or shoes or underwear (in spite of the obvious rash it would probably cause).
West Virginia underwear?

WVU has one of the most delusional fan bases in all of college football, and they really prefer to live in the moment rather than looking at the big picture. When they won the Orange Bowl against Clemson in Dana's first season, he was the greatest coach in college football. Then at the end of every season after that, they wanted him fired. Then, after last regular season when they went 10-2, everyone wanted him there forever and was thrilled when he got the extension. They were all pretty pissed after the Miami game but got over it fast and have spent all offseason discussing how Dana is the greatest coach in the Big 12 and how Will Grier will win the Heisman based off of 6 games at Florida. I've said this approximately a million times already, but their recruiting is mediocre, their receiver depth is abysmal, the entire left side of their offensive line is new, and they have to replace 7 starters on defense (8 for the VT game). What's crazy is that their fans are completely aware of that, but they have adopted the "we don't rebuild, we reload" attitude. Even when VT beats them, I'll still have to be pissed at their fans because their first instinct after losing a game is to attack Marshall for not being a power 5 school. Like I said, their fan base is completely delusional and has an inferiority complex unmatched.
Rant over.
I can't say I've ever paid much attention to their fan base, but wow. This Summer has been eye opening to say the least. I thought UVA fans were bad... at least a good number of hoos will openly admit they just don't care or that their irrational optimism is based on no real facts, they 'just have a feeling Bronco's the guy.' WVU fans really believe all this shit.
Well after September 3rd, they'll be back to "fire Dana!" and "Marshall still sucks!" That's easier to deal with than "we're winning the big 12 and Grier is winning the Heisman!"
sooo an inexperienced VT offense will stutter but a WVU Offense with a new QB and 0 WR's with college action are going to pummel a top 5 VT defense.
Oh man this is going to be epic when we hit em in the mouth, could get ugly early..
