Lady Hokies advance to the second round of the WNIT with their win over Navy today. The Lady Hokies were down 46-39 going into the fourth quarter. Alexis Jean had 18, Taylor Emery 16, and Regan Magarity 14 to fuel the Hokies win. Emery hit a jumper with one second remaining to put the Hokies on top for only the second time the entire game. Navy led by as many as 13 and started the game with a 9-0 run, but the Hokies fought back in the second half. Congrats to the Ladies for a hard fought win. They face George Mason next at Cassell Sunday at 2pm. It will be broadcasted on the ACC Network/WatchESPN app.

Nice job ladies!
The women's bball team has an auction every year in February to raise money. At dinner, every table has a player or someone from the coaching staff representing the team and Taylor Emery was at my table. She was such an impressive young woman. Smart, engaging, works her tail off between bball and pursuing a pre-vet course load. One of the auction items was a framed poem she wrote and read for the audience. I'm very proud to call her a Hokie.
That's awesome. Love hearing stories from members like that. Thanks for sharing! That is really impressive.
What an awesome game tonight. Here is the view from the Cassell Guard - although not a great video. Navy had a foul to give and the Navy player wraps her arms around Emery, trying to foul, as Emery is going up for the shot. She still drilled it.
