I posted something similar the Orange and Maroon or Black thread, but wanted to create a thread dedicated to inspiring others to do something kind for someone else today.
My annual tradition around April 16 is to go to the local coffee shop here in Leesburg, purchase a gift card, and hand it back to the customer to pay it forward for the next several guests that come in after me. I try to do enough to where 32 people can get a cup of coffee, courtesy of a Hokie today. I am not posting this for recognition, but rather inspiration and a 'call to arms.' for every one to embrace our motto today: Ut Prosim: That I May Serve.
Challenge yourself to do something special today for someone else, or simply be a Hokie.
Let's hear it TKP - inspiration is encouraged by other peoples actions - in what way were you a Hokie today, or recently?

Comments
You are a true Hokie.
You've inspired me to do something similar today.
Thank you VPISU for the inspiration
Loved the idea of the coffee shop thing and did it at a local joint (boo starbucks)
Donated to my late father's favorite charity
Cleaned up our block and mulched the tree in the front (its a city, so no one really upkeeps it for us)
Appreciated the live-in girlfriend a little bit more today
It's not much, but its something
Excellent!!
The magnitude of the gesture doesn't matter - just something that is above and beyond of how we normally tackle a Tuesday (or any other day of the week for that matter).
For the 32 families that can't, take the time today to tell the people in your life that you love them.
Personally, since i missed the 3.2 for 32 this weekend, i'm going to run one on my own today and then make a donation to the school that, for the 4.5 years i was blessed to be there, shaped me into the person I am today. I hope that can help make Blacksburg as special for someone else as it was for me.
Bud being awesome as usual:
By not calling VT electric and screaming about our office power going off 4 times thus far today.
I had to drop something off at the vet's office, so I stopped and got the staff Duck Donuts on the way.
Trying to be extra friendly and cheerful to everyone.
Making sure that I tell my friends and family how important they are.
Contemplating taking Mini LancerHokie for ice cream this afternoon and paying it forward at the ice cream place as well.
That's some saint-hood level niceness
They are the best donuts where we live and it is in the same shopping center as the vet.
Bristow?
Yes. How did you know?
Well then hey neighbor! We live right near there also, figure there couldn't be too too many shopping centers with Duck Donuts and a vet in the area.
Hi! TKP friend. Yeah the ice cream plan for later is Effee's.
Nice. Shaping up to be an awesome afternoon to spend some time outside.
So I took Mini LancerHokie for ice cream. After we ate, I got back in line and bought gift certificates to pay it forward, the guy behind the counter was completely shocked and thought it was really cool.
Fantastic!! And what a perfect way to have a date-evening with your child, and do something special for others!
That's awesome ππ»
Good time and a good deed in one.
Ut Prosim: I'm providing 30 meals to a local H.S. baseball team party tomorrow.
Wearing my maroon Hokies united shirt. Not just today, but every day living the school's motto Ut Prosim, That I may serve.
I waited in a Starbucks in Leesburg until some one wearing VT appearal walked in then got in line behind them.
Hey hey- fellow Leesburg Hokie here!
I dont live in leesburg, but I'm close enough.
Feels great to read all of these small gestures to go above and beyond on a day that will always be tough for Hokies across the globe.
Perhaps next year, we can tee this up a little more ahead of time to get a lot more people on board. Cheers Hokies!
