Let them enjoy it. We have a class full of freshmen and sophomores that'll remember this game for 3 straight years, looking for revenge beat down style.
We'll be playing for more than a Coastal title and to be a stepping stone for Clemson in the upcoming years. Be excited about Hokie football.

This comment didn't need a new thread.
Yeah I think we need another fire corny thread! /s
Very true. Clemson's season long string of "exhibition" games goes on, as they continue to rest up for the CFP. Quite the advantage over the SEC teams that beat the living crap out of each other each weekend.
Let everyone revel in their negativity till the buzz wears off. This was a great game between two teams wanting to win. Nothing was perfect on either side and it's almost a guarantee the winner was gonna get boat raced by Clemson. But I'm stoked about the future
It's not about Clemson
We had the chance for the division title and to get a NY6 bowl and we blew it. It's about THAT missed opportunity. Of course we were going to be shelled by a legit playoff team.... All but maybe 7 teams in this country would
Yep. Missed opportunity AND the first L to uva Football in my Entire Adult Life (and many others, here).
Yeah, and now the Hoos have that title...and the Cup.
We win comfortably IMO if things weren't so shady.
Let's be honest here, UVA has no business playing Clemson either. They're gonna get dogwalked.
I agree with the title to the thread but too pissed I have to face my UVAh co-workers on Monday to be excited about anything right now
We didnt have any business having a close game with UVA.... we should've beat them by 21+. But the way we played, the playcalling and some of the officiating being questionable, it happened. I really think we could give Clemson a good punch if we played and had play calling like we did every game between Duke and today.
This is a really small team mentality. I don't care if we would have been blown out by 100 against Clemson. Losing to UVA is a major failure regardless of circumstances, period.
Most teams would get destroyed by Clemson. UVA are a good team this year. Not giving our team a chance vs Clemson, plus missing a NY6 bowl, plus LOSING TO FUCKING UVA is extremely disappointing.
Orange Bowl still gets to pick.
UVA isn't ranked, if they don't think UVA will travel then they can pick over them.
Just because UVA isn't ranked now doesn't mean that they won't be ranked on Tuesday night. And there is a lot of room at the bottom of the rankings for them to move up.
#24 VT lost. #19 Cincinnati lost. #22 USC is sitting idle at 8-4, easy for a 9-3 team to jump them. #23 Iowa State is 7-4. Even with a win, it's easy for a 9-3 team to jump them.
Even if UVA gets blown out by Clemson, the numbers in the rankings might change after next Saturday, but I don't see how any team could rise into the top 25 to replace someone that lost, considering how any team not in the rankings isn't playing next weekend.
