This is another color scheme unique to hockey but maintains a classic college hockey look.
Inside the program: The players on the Hokies' hockey team have to travel a little under an hour to practice and for home games, which doesn't make for a lot of opportunities to draw students. The team does have a dedicated locker room, which the players painted and designed themselves inside the arena. When it comes to road trips, the club rents three vans and hits the road.
"Sometimes if we're lucky, someone will chip in for a bus, but otherwise we rent vans from the school," said junior defenseman and team captain Trevor Murphy, a finance major from Raleigh, North Carolina. "We have an equipment van, and then the guys pile into the other two. We're basically all together."
Those Oregon jerseys are fire.

Aye, my guys!!! Used to do play by play for the online stream...ahhh, simpler times.
Picture for context

Why isn't the gloves and shin guards orange?
*ducks*
Getting custom goalie gear is expensive as hell. My wife is looking into getting a custom set. She's not getting top of the line or anything, but for leg pads, blocker, and glove, you're looking at like MINIMUM of $1800
FTFY
Very true. I know my skater gear, all new, was like half the cost of all of my wife's goalie gear that was basically all used.
The cost of goalie gear is why I'm praying my son enjoys playing defense. But I fear until I do something to really nip the goalie bug, it may be an uphill battle.
A former goalie had these custom setups, had to have cost a pretty penny.
That is sexy looking gear...
That helmet though...
Can we get this crew working on our other unis?
You don't get a name like Tanner without having that $$
Can't even crack the top 10. What is Fuente even doing?
OT, but the rowing team is the same.
We had (have?) a small training room on the 1st floor of War Memorial where all of our ergs were stashed and was used in the winter for winter conditioning, but during the fall & spring seasons the shells are stored down at Claytor Lake. 30min each way for practice at zero dark hundred every morning where you could barely see where you're going when we started rowing in the mornings.
We'd rent vans from fleet services for the regattas that would leave at different times on Fridays to catch students as they finished up with classes for the days.
Ah, simpler times *sigh*
I rowed in high school, thought about doing it at tech as well, but decided I like sleep more than I do rowing
Ditto ski team. An hour each way up to Winterplace to practice 2x a week, plus vans for race weekends. Real fun to ride in a van and not be able to set your feet on the floor without race-sharp edges tearing up your shoes (the skis had to slide under the seats for transport)
I created an expansion orange and maroon team in NHL 19, and have been absolutely wrecking the league.
The customization options in that game, from being able to design your own arena to the in game atmosphere is pretty nice
All of these jerseys are just fantastic. Super cool article, especially for ESPN of all outlets.
As a Gamecock, I'm a really big fan of those Carolina sweaters, too. I'd wear one of those in a heartbeat.
