For reference in the Intermat team rankings NC State is 5th at 59.5 team points and Nebraska is 8th at 57.5 so it's a very tight group.
what is our ranking?
Hokies are 7th with a projected 58 points.
Assuming we wrestle nc state, hopefully we take them down this year. IIRC they have beaten us the last two years in duals.
So has UNC. Hokies wrestle them this Friday at 6 on the ACC Network. I took a brief look at their lineup and it's going to be a tight match.
That match last year against UNC was brutal
Awesome! Keep growing!
Here's the rankings:

Mekhi is still #1 in his weight class, and Bolen is at #2.
Top 8 in the polls:
Is Mekhi on the Olympic Team or is that still up in the air at this point? Would love to watch a Hokie going for gold.
He had an interview last week and he said that he's more focus on winning a national championship again then the Olympic team this year
Trials are probably around April I think. I'm pretty sure that's when they were scheduled last year. He has already qualified for the trials. Same goes for James Green and Ty Walz.
If any of em make to the Olympic team would be huge for the SERTC
It looks like he has qualified from last years results? Kind of fuzzy!
Lewis in 2021
This will always be great!
Chills!
Looking at the Dual Meet rankings we sit at #9 w/ a 4-0 record. #1 Iowa, #3 Penn State, and #6 Ohio State are all 0-0. UNC is #12 at 1-0, would obviously be a huge win if we pull it off.
Looking at the tournament rankings, are the top three teams really that much better than us? I'm really ignorant when it comes to NCAA wrestling, but #1 Iowa at 154.5pts, #2 Michigan at 99, and #3 Penn State at 92.5 points are way ahead of the rest of the pack.
Big Ten isn't allowed to wrestle out of conference until the NCAAs. That's why they haven't had a dual yet. For the team tournament scoring having wrestlers get All-American and win championships is worth significantly more points than only winning a match or two. Those top teams have many more wrestlers ranked in the top 8 than Virginia Tech does. Right now the Hokies have two legit national title contenders in Lewis and Bolen and then one other AA in Meyers. The rest of the lineup would be considered dark horses for AA at best.
Iowa has a wrestler in every single weight class ranked in the top 8, including 3 that are ranked #1. They are absolutely stacked, hence why they're so far ahead of the pack.
Iowa's coaches are a bunch of damn oranges.
Welp UNC Match is postponed😔
