Very interesting. I'm wondering if this was a thing where the the student athletes didn't want to play and UVA is letting them make the decision, or if this is coming for Men's BB too.
They follow Duke having already done this. Curious if they count as forfeits with the ACC and/or Commonwealth Challenge. Never saw a statement from the ACC about how they were handling the Duke situation. Likely just cancellations.
Honestly, I expect this to continue happening as cases grow, testing being required several times a week amid all the pauses.
As far as VT will be concerned they forfeited. They were going to lose those games anyway. UVA was dead last weren't they.
This is the best thing about stupid sports rivalries, you can give everyone a pass but claim on your own record book that your rival forfeit, I'm all for calling those games wins, but only for UVA and no one else.
I will also count the forfeits against Duke (who also canceled).

Just told my UVA buddy that they canceled the Hoos basketball season. He lost his mind for a solid 5 minutes before looking it up and seeing that it was the women's team. Solid prank if I do say so myself.
He responded that nobody cares about women's sports. I asked him to confirm that and he agreed. Next time he starts blabbering on about UVA's National Championships I can just say, well, you told me that no one cares about your women's sports and most of them are women's titles....
Their coaches' record looks better at 0-5 than the eventual 0-20+ she would otherwise end up with if they played the rest of their season.
