Please no Pavers...
But I do miss the lunch pail
Nice!
See, why not put this out yesterday instead of the GRIT thing, and there wouldn't be a big stink about it on social media. Timing is so bad by football's social media team.
Hell, this is a great video, I love it, but damn, just swinging and missing.
That video got me like......
Sam Rogers got me like
Legendary.
she was a loose acquaintance of mine when i was on campus, very nice girl who definitely could ratchet up the intensity to another level at a moment's notice lol
Sounds like an ex-wife (or two) of mine...
I see you are no stranger to pain
Maybe not use the word loose when describing a woman ...
ok pickle boy
Sam, he'll "get after ya".
Awesome to hear from Sam but I'm also a little sad that they couldn't find someone from the current roster to give this speech.
And we definitely need to pick a slogan and stick with it - are we GRIT, HARD SMART TOUGH, Hard Hat - I'm confused.
I don't think having Sam do it was any slight towards the current players. They should be focused on spring ball. Sam is a link to the blue collar ethic that made VT famous and is a better link to the fan base. He can also be a good link to recruits, as he is able to show he was able to make an NFL roster as a former walk-on.
I didn't see it as a slight to the current players. But, I think that same message from a current player would have been more impactful. Sam's not doing Colorado's now, Sam's not catching passes now. We know Sam bought in when he was here (and probably still does). But, with all the culture transitions this team has had, having that message from the current roster would have been a 1st step on a path to a place we all miss.
Sam lived this life at Tech, and he lived those definitions for Hard, Smart, Tough. I like the choice of having him doing the voiceover.
I think that, if anything, what we need in this moment is the supportive, all-in voice of a former player.
After yesterday's Twitter shitshow, getting love from an alum in this way is a decent salve at the very least. Good move IMO.
Sam Rogers doesn't do Colorado drills...Colorado drills do Sam Rogerses.
Its okay. Not the best video, not the worst. But they have to stop using that shitty filter that makes our jersey colors look off. It's so bad.
That's not a shitty filter. It's Nike.
Your takeaway from that video was about the colors being off?
NC state's motto is nearly identical. Not sure who was first but kind of weird. Maybe we should rock, paper, scissors for it? Or should I say hard, smart/together, tough for it?
Maybe they just combined ours and UVA's "Hard things together".
It won out over "get hard together"?
I'd prefer "Good At Football."
They forgot the "R".... lol... Respect, Rewind, Retreat.... Etc.... lol
Beat.Shitty.Schools. once in a while, please
Good message, but maybe too many syllables
or, stop playing shitty schools !!!
Playing shitty schools has a couple valid points (in my opinion). Like if you know you're going to have a big rebuild one or two years, like maybe you replace your DC and need to get recruits to fit a new scheme. Having said that: a) you should only do that for a year or two for a rebuild, maybe longer if you're rebuilding a whole program, b) you better freaking beat the shitty schools.
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women"
Lol we got Sam to do a professional voiceover on Zoom
Man, you really don't like the video editing of VTs social media team.
It's cool, I really don't like the guy that runs it.
We need a new assistant coach.
#HireSam
I am kinda mad that normally I would jump all over this shred of football news and now I am like, eh, I will wait till I can watch it at home on the tablet. Damn you Fuente
