A Covid outbreak in the FSU basketball program has put them on pause for at least 3 games. Their game against BC for Tuesday was going to be played even though BC only had 4 scholarship players available. The rest of the team was going to be filled out by the scout team (walk-ons and managers probably).

Is there a chance we fill that date (a Tuesday) with another game?

Gonzaga has an open date ππ
YOLO
We want the Zags!
Somebody contact to players and get them to ask CMY to call Mark Few. Gonzaga has been willing to try to put another non-con game on the schedule
Only if they come here.
Nah, Anybody Any time Any place
The 9th? I wonder if teams could adopt the 7 day method rather than 14 for close contacts, then more games could be played. Unless that many players are positive.
We get another shot at them on the schedule, but this would have been the home game for us. Maybe BC is available now since their FSU game was also postponed.
Dang, that's two conference home games gone now at no fault of our own. Hope we can at least get these made up against somebody else in conference.
If anyone's wondering , Clemson is the only other ACC team not scheduled to play that week, wonder if there's a chance we get them at home again or schedule somebody else?
Beating Clemson isn't as good as it was when we did it.
A win is a win.
I am kind of happy for BC. Their coach was really pissed about having to play FSU with four scholarship players and 4 scout team walkon members.
Does this mean FSUs couldn't even field a team even with scout players if BC was about to trot onto the court with that? I mean if I was BC wouldn't I have just said the whole program was in contract tracing at that point?
BC administration made the decision that they would play the game against Jim Christians wishes. Not sure why it what the decision process was, but it's not like BC administration has down much interest in bball success.
BC had a bad case of COVID as well. They hadn't played since the middle of January. I think Admin finally just said "you have 8, that is the minimum. Play, we don't care if you get run out of the court."
With FSU, it came down to contact tracing meaning their whole program has to Quarantine. With BC, they were emerging from the protocols and finally had "enough".
I only feel bad for the scout team guys that now miss out on their 15 minutes of glory and a lifetime story
15 Minutes of Glory or Horror?
Even if every one of them got posterized, it's something they would have taken with them forever.
That one time at band camp....
One of them would have been guaranteed to be legitimately able to say I started a basketball game in the ACC
At this point shouldn't the ACC just seed by wins first then break ties with winning percentage. That way it gives a team that plays more and stays healthy a bonus over a team like FSU that will likely not ply 3 road games a bonus.
The only way this happens is if it results in an advantage for Duke or NC.
Not too upset about this. FSU always has a horse shoe stuck up their ass every time we play them. Everything they shoot somehow finds bottom, even with a hand in their face. We haven't beaten them since I was in high school, and I'm in grad school now.
Since FSU cancelled, and since they have an imbalance of home games, while VT has an imbalance of road games, perhaps the other scheduled meeting on February 20th should be relocated to Blacksburg to even things out.
That would make sense but because it's us I doubt it will happen.
Maybe for our Football program... But we're a basketball π school now, so they may cater to us. π©
Mike Young calling up Whit like, "any chance Gonzaga would be up for a game next week? No? How bout the Lakers?"
I'd flip the bird to fsu!
