Aluma recognized as Player of the Week by ACC and Two National Awards

Keve Aluma was recognized as the ACC Player of the Week, Oscar Robertson Player of the Week and the Naismith Player of the week.

By being named ACC Player of the Week for the second time this season, this nominated Aluma for the Oscar Robertson, which takes each conference Player of the Week and votes among them.

The Oscar Robertson award was named in honor of the University of Cincinnati Hall of Famer and two-time USBWA Player of the Year Oscar Robertson. It is the nation's oldest annual award and the only one named after a former player. Aluma is the first Hokie ever recognized with the weekly award since its debut in 2009.

Naismith Award is a basketball award named after Dr. James Naismith, and recognizes the top player in college basketball each season and recognizes the top performer each week. Later this month the 30 semifinalists will be announced. It will be interesting to see if Aluma makes that list.

Proud of this young man. Got to see him play several times in high school. And my wife used to work with his father. Very deserved accolades for the hard work he has put in over the years.
