An accurate look at the design team planning the renovations:

A couple more shots
Serious question (from a guy who weighs in at a whopping 165 lbs). Who in the heck uses 165lb dumbells and for what?
I love how there's THREE pairs of the 165s, and a pair of 170s. As if there was an issue with a lot of people waiting to use 165-lb dumbbells....
Practicing throwing guys like you out of bars? /s
Shoulder shrugs, bench press is doable, lunges.
EDIT: forgot to answer the who ... strong people!
Dumbbells aren't just for curling. You can use them for all kinds of exercises including types of squats.
Yeah thats what I was thinking. Farmer and waiter carries, goblet or front loaded squats, maybe one arm bent over rows, pull overs
... and you don't ask him "for what."
fun fact Nick acree is training to be a professional MMA fighter and that thought is legitimately terrifying to me
When did he leave Liberty?
not sure when exactly he left liberty, but made the move to new mexico to train MMA back in the fall
Another fun fact: I went to his cousin's wedding in the VB area a couple of years back. He was an usher for the wedding. I literally walked into the chapel like, why in the f do they have wrestlers for wedding ushers?
I was placed at his table at the reception, because she knew I was a VT football fan/alum. Pretty nice guy, and super chill. I may or may not have been a VT groupie asking him various questions about what his thoughts were when they were losing to JMU lol.
I'm wondering if the designer had to incorporate some of these mottos and other Fu related stuff. I would assume the next coach will want to change that and would hope the designer had designed it to be more timeless.
Well this is only Fuente's first year so lets see what he does first before kicking him out the door...
I don't think it was overlooked, mainly because it looks like the bigger instances of things like "GRIT" and "HARD HAT MENTALITY" were just wall stencils - not exactly difficult to paint over those and put something new up, even just season to season. From the images/videos I've seen, the actual physical signs and such are just VT related, not Fuente specific.
So much grit I'm beginning to worry we're going to be replacing the hokie bird with a maroon and orange gritty mascot
Big upgrades especially in the position meeting rooms. Looks really nice. We just need to make sure we don't wait another 21 years until the next upgrade.
Looks like a real college meeting room and not my high schools.
Really love these upgrades.
These renovations should easily add 2-3 wins a year
In all seriousness, if these rooms help us add 2-3 top recruits a year, your numbers are likely spot on.
I was half being snarky, but you are correct. It doesn't take much to right the ship recruiting wise.
They highlighted Michael Vick Hall but I'm always disappointed there isn't a DeAngelo Hall Hall
or just a DeAngelo Hall
Vince Hall sounds great too
I'm always disappointed that I'm not credited with the concept of a DeAngelo Hall :(
I'm confused as to why there's a CFP National Championship trophy in this photo...
Because it's just around the corner?
Just have to say, this is my kind of comment. I appreciate it very much.
I'm going to reply to myself here and wildly guess it's the new "Reserved for the Nat'l Championship Trophy", and that orange block will cover it up.
Which would be #1 a nice social media / photo gaffe and #2 odd, because if we win the championship I think we could raise enough cash to get a new wall graphic π€·ββοΈ
Read the quote on the other side. I think it has to do with goals.
"If it's important, you'll find a way". I don't think that's enough context to fairly show that trophy.
Looks like the orange block is covering up the visitor section
Pretty crazy to get a mural on the wall in year one of coaching.
Based on some of the responses to this thread (Some responses are not, I'm enjoying it in its entirety, just taking note):

I would love to see what the before/after is for comparison.
Here's an example of the DB meeting room
I have found why we are having issues now. Our players can't take notes during meetings now with nothing to write on. How are they going to study up outside of meetings? /s
I have to admit, my mind went there. Where are the writing surfaces?? Or are they just all given Surfaces to take notes with.
I figure that those chairs have desk tops that can fold away "underneath" the armrest
You joke, but as long as the chair is comfortable, I would rather have a full desk in front of me than one of those little flip up things. Always pissed me off taking a scantron exam in McBryde 100.
My favorite was the lecture halls that just hand out a stack of wooden planks for you to balance in your lap
McBryde 113 (and a few other twins) was my favorite lecture hall. We had a full desk, elevated stadium seating, and a huge white board. That was until I took the FE exam in that same room and now it haunts my dreams.
Gonna need to make some calls to see where those old chairs went to....
Let me know if you find some extras
See, I feel like this makes me appreciate the new facilities that much more to see what the team was using prior. That's a significant upgrade
Is this weight room to be used strictly by the football team, or can the other varsity sports, if need be, use the weight training facilities? I know that basketball has their own practice facility, but what about the other teams?
Basketball has its own. Football has its own. The throwers have their own. The rest share a room. Or at least those are the only 4 rooms I've visited, there may be more.
This video is awesome. Every damn recruit should get this in their inbox/social media feed today, right now. As a donor, I approve this use of my money!
