OT: Captain Winky lives again... Ace Ventura 3 in development

Amazon developing Ace Ventura 3 with Sonic the Hedgehog team

Well, we are officially in the off-season now, unless we are now ready to adopt VT baseball into the fold.

And what better way to kick off the summer doldrums than the news of everyone's favorite pet detective from the 90s getting resuscitated in the 2020s.

I was just laughing at this yesterday. Hope it's the Wrath of Finkle.

Also, Ace Ventura 2 is better than the first. Come at me.

I love a good nap. Sometimes that's all that's getting me out of bed in the morning.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

It's better than Bill and Ted's having yet another adventure...yeesh

Ok...worst sequel ever: Caddyshack 2

Your rebuttal, sir

The Last Jedi

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Game. Set. Match.

I mean realistically every part of the Skywalker saga plus Solo could be thrown in there...

I'm all for bashing the shit show of the new saga but Solo was a damn good movie.

You spelled Rogue One wrong...

Ill give you a tie with Blues Brothers Brothers 2 and Grease 2,

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

WHOA WHOA WHOA!
Blues Brothers 2000 is not the worst sequel ever made. While it wasn't a GREAT movie, the final sequence puts them out of the bottom spot automatically. That collection of musicians all playing together was fun to see (and I didn't have enough appreciation for it 21 years ago). That plus some fun music sequences, not sure where you're getting "worst sequel" ever from...

It's on... right now.
There is an incredible amount of musical talent in this movie.

True...but the other senatorjohnblutarsky was the heart and soul of the first BB movie. The second one just feels like an empty and a contrived $$ grab.

Thats kind of an insult to Dan Akryod. The duo made that movie. I also believe that John Goodman couldn't never be a true substitute to Belushi, but I think he did the part justice.

I see no evidence that BB2000 is worse than (and therefore can't be the worst sequel ever):
Oceans 12
TLJ
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Aladdin 4: Jafar Needs Glasses
Deuce Bigalo 2
Highlander 2
Speed 2

and many, many more

Never even bothered seeing it lol

The drop off between Oceans 11 and Oceans 12 is cavernous, in my opinion.

Thank you so much for that. The mark of a truly funny movie is is the number of quotes you remember from it (and use in multiple social settings) years later. Just the other day I used the "Guano - collect the whole set!" with someone. Another goofy and underrated movie with tons of quotables is the first Spongebob Squarepants movie, such as "In your FACE!!" (while tooting the air horn)....

The problem with sequels with this much age is that our generation that grew up on this silly comedy feels the nostalgia to enjoy it again, but in reality do not find it as funny as we did when we were younger. Therefore we inevitably are left unsatisfied. Not to mention that a sixty year old pet defective is a bit sad. I sure did enjoy the first two movies though.

A 60 year old pet detective is no whereclose to as sad as a 40 year old pet detective. You can atleast imagine that the 60 year old is retired law enforcement that needed something to do and he goes around helping people find their pets. Throw in a romance with a lady that lost her husband and THAT could 100% be an Oscar winning plot.

15YO me thought the first one was funny... When Nature Calls - had its moments, but seemed sophomoric... with this one I'm afraid my mind would take a giant leap backwards to making Idiocracy a predictive documentary (if we hadn't already accomplished that already).

Idiocracy was definitely a predictive documentary lol

I love that Kristen Bell now refers to it by saying her husband starred in that cultural documentary, Idiocracy
