John Sung Hokies Lax coach resigns

This is honestly a shock. He has an overall decent record and has experience building a team from nothing like he has been doing at Tech.

Is this the coach that was being sued by a former player?

That was women's soccer.

Women's soccer and women's LAX are basically the same!

Don't Tell Scotty
'Cause Scotty Doesn't Know!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

I got robbed.....IT WAS AWESOME

I remember explaining baseball to a postdoc in my old lab. She was from Italy. Anyway, I go, it's just like soccer:

There are two teams
And there's a ball
And the object is to score more often than the other team

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Often played by humans.
Involves lots of running.
End of similarities.

Both played on a field.
Can be played indoors or out.

Baseball running <<<<< Soccer running

Saying the running in baseball is similar to soccer is like saying the baseball bat you use to hit the ball is similar to a dart.

This is posted under olympic sports, I'm not sure you can really call lacrosse an Olympic sport, it's been played twice, like 100 years ago.

The Olympic sport forum is correct.

Even with a football season that is close to normal, the legacy of the coronavirus and the indefinite cessation of college athletic competition may very well be a streamlined offering of college sports, with a heavy emphasis on those sports which attract large fanbases, commonly referred to as "revenue" sports. Those sports not fitting into this category are frequently known as "Olympic" sports. And while that moniker is designed to be more flattering than "non-revenue" sports, the reality is those are the sports in the most tenuous position going forward.

In your major you have your Core courses and your electives. Olympic sports are a university's electives.

I someone who likes to make fun of lacrosse, I appreciate this subtle jab.

Oh I like lacrosse, it just seems wierd to call something an Olympic sport when no one alive has seen it played at an Olympics.

However, I learned the IOC defines an Olympic sport as one with an international governing body. So grab your compass as orienteering is a sanctioned Olympic sport. Also lifesaving, auto racing, motorboating, and bridge to name a few.

Basketball is played at the olympics but isn't categorized as a collegiate Olympic sport.

It's slated to return to the Olympics in 2028. It was also a demonstration sport in 1928, 1932, and 1948.
