Xavier Chaplin of South Carolina commits to VT

Film:

Picked up an offer while at camp. He is a big boy. I like the pancakes on offense. Stack em up! Let's go!

Looks the part. Dunno if I want Vice or Teerlinck to get first crack at him.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

6'6" and 370 pounds as a rising HS senior? Holy guacamole Batman! That is one impressive young man given how quick he looks on tape. Big Tim Settle clone, only taller. Me likey mucho!

VTCC '86 Delta Co., Peru Hokie, Former Naval Aviator, Former FBISA, Forever married to my VT87 girl. Go VT!

For reference... And I'm just going off a quick Google search, our heaviest player is only 330. Lecitus Smith who is R-SR is 6'3" 320. This kid is 370? Wowzers....

This is like TJ Jackson size. Hopefully we can get more of him on the field if those are the right kind of size.

I believe he's also only 16 years old so I'm okay playing the long game. Massive potential, no pun...

This could also confirm that we will give Givens a shot at defense.

1-0 every week

I think Chaplins commit may be more related to Page, who has been dragging his feet on announcing a flip to the good guys.

How so? Isn't Page a TE vs an OL of Chaplin?

Vroom Vroom

Page has grown into an excellent OT prospect.

I think that is a possibility, but we could potentially lose 5-6 OL after this season so taking a big OL class is very much on the table as well.

Gives a whole new meaning to "Big man on campus" doesn't it?

Beast mode! That is a big man who can move! I like the recent trend of Tech getting bigger, with guys who can also move well. Welcome to VT!

Love the frame, looks to me like first step needs some work, and Vice will be onto him about finishing his blocks, but my goodness, he looks like Michael Ore in "The Blindside".

We put the K in Kwality

Let's Go!!!

Are we just going to fill the class up with Xaviers? Cause I'm fine with that.

I'm fine with it if Adibi is one of them

He will always be the coolest linebacker

Hall and Adibi. Being a student at the time, I remember feeling good when the offense had the ball, but getting really amped when our defense took the field because something exciting was bound to happen. A TO or pick 6 was almost the expectation.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

It was a hell of a time to be a student. The camaraderie of the football team was infectious. We had a 1st flr apartment at Foxridge, and got to grille out. Taco Cordarrow, Adibi, etc lived in Foxridge, and would swing by whenever we did.

I will say this about the current 22 recruiting class, and the 21 class. These kids want to play with each other on the field, they want to be a team, and they're being public about it on social media. The past few years, with all the transfers, and lack of success on the field, you can tell right now, these kids will be putting on a show in the coming years.

From my rather limited knowledge, OL rankings are the least accurate of any position to project at the HS level. I trust Vice he's done a stellar job in his time in Blacksburg.

I keep seeing everyone saying he's 370, but I believe I read where he's lost about 40 lbs and is more like 330 lbs. Still really big for a HS kid, but frankly a better weight.
