Michigan vs Michigan State is a close one

Miami up 31-17 on Pitt going into halftime

It would be typical ACC if Miami pulls their head out of their asses long enough to beat Pitt.

Miami has quietly been a lot better over the last few weeks. Their new QB has really settled in nicely, and their offense has taken a pretty big step forward as a result.

This aged well.

Iowa down 20-0 to Wisconsin

Iowa and Penn State were never elite teams and had no business being ranked as high as they were.

I think the same will end up being true for Mich/MSU. Those backloaded B1G schedules have ensured they made it to this point with a bunch of teams ranked way too highly purely off easy schedules. Before this noon game today, none of PSU, MSU, Michigan, and Ohio State had played each other. Over the next month all those games happen (two of them today).

QB play in the B1G has just not been good at all. Ohio State might legitimately have the 3 or 4 best QB's in the conference.

Didn't see that coming. Iowa went from Top 5 to failing to show up in 2 weeks.

Michigan State getting pummeled by Michigan and they roar back with 2 touchdowns and 2 2pt conversions to tie it at 30.

Texas blows the 11 point second half lead to Baylor (Frosty loving it).

As much as we gripe about Fuente and VT, does anyone manage to do less with more money and talent than Texas over the last 10 years or so?

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Texas is making me look pretty good in the bold predictions thread.

I don't understand Texas. I mean, I can not legitimately wrap my head around why they are so bad. They have all the money. They have all the prestige. They have one of the best places to recruit from. AND YET THE CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!?!?!

They've gone from one potential star coach to another since canning Mack Brown and they can't get their poop in a group. I would love for someone with more knowledge to shine a light on the situation.

they can't get their poop in a group

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Texas is easy, the boosters run the show

I guess now we blame the monkey.

Monkey causes all kinds of trouble.

I agree, Texas has been the biggest underachiever with their resources. Miami is second with all the talent they waste.

I would give that award to USCw, in fact they are pretty close to UT in that regard ever since Carroll ran away to the pros when he saw the NCAA closing in on his recruiting violations.

VTCC '86 Delta Co., Peru Hokie, Former Naval Aviator, Former FBISA, Forever married to my VT87 girl. Go VT!

Michigan QB just lays the ball on the field and Sparty jumps on it. 7 minutes to play; Should be an interesting finish.

Eat shit pitt

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

As much as I hate Pitt, I hate Miami more. Furthermore, this just hurts the ACC in a year where we are already looking pretty bad.

Dang, Mich State RB with 5 Rush TDs on the day so far

Seeing that both teams are undefeated and top 10 right now is a headscratcher. I guess Chris nailed it with the Big Ten's scheduling: PSU, Iowa, Michigan and MSU have all been squatting in the Top 10 (while OSU is probably the only team that should really be there).

Big 4th down conversion for Michigan keeping their chances alive with under 4 minutes left.

Mich/St game was a really good one. Walker should definitely be a frontrunner for the Heisman

Loeffler got ejected from his game after getting two unsportsmanlike penalties. 😂 Bowling Green did hang onto win though.

I still haven't seen an explanation of what happened there.

He was clearly triggered by something.

They say that once he got tossed, BGSU scored more points than they ever had under him.

That's hilarious... and telling.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

in 18 minutes of game time they scored more points than they did in any full 60 minute game since he took over as HC

"Ah f*** it." is a surprisingly effective strategy at times.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

So how exactly does an OC get ejected from the booth?

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

he's the Head Coach. On the field. Not in the booth. Though, apparently, he does call the plays. So, LOL

Onward and upward

I was hoping there was a way we could get ours ejected to get a similar boost in the offense.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Cincy is going to be the #1 team in the country tomorrow.

well that didn't age well.

Maybe if Florida stops turning the ball over and engineers a 25 point comeback and a shutout in the second half.

Don't even know how they are ranked #2. Who have they played and don't say ND?

They haven't impressed me much at all. As in, they haven't impressed me into thinking they are a top 5 team, much less number 2. 2nd ranked teams don't play a now 2-6 Navy 27-20. I'm hoping SMU beats them so we don't have to deal with that discourse come playoff time.

The easy answer is... Cincy is ranked #2 because everyone of consequence in front of them lost, and they haven't.

That said, I'm not quite sure how they jumped Oklahoma. That will be rectified soon.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

Oklahoma looked bad early. I'd put Cincy below UGA and OK for sure and probably Mich St at this point. Mich St hasn't played OSU or PSU yet but their next two are like Illinois and MD so they'll be 10-0

Probably took into consideration how both teams played against Tulane. Not saying I agree with it, just that I can see how they got there.

Meanwhile, WF has 380 yards in the first half against Duke. I know Duke is bad, but that's still pretty damn impressive.

meanwhile on the left coast, Oregon is doing things to a bad team that good teams should do to bad teams.

and in the dustbowl, OU might finally have a game against a FBS team that isn't a nail-biter.

Clemson is doing everything it can to give FSU the win right now. I bet Dabo misses sunshine.

You know Elliot misses Sunshine...and Watson...and everyone else

Has harbaugh won one big game at Michigan yet or does he shit the bed every time?

Also if a hokie is a chokie what do longhorns call themselves cause they can't hold a lead for anything.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Think big Jim is one for every time against osu and msu.

Clemson suck again and all is right in the world.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

But their bag men apparently got to the refs some bull shit PI calls the last few drives to bail them out.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Klempson with a huge PI call there that wasn't. The ACC needs to bring in all the officials for a remedial course on PI. Total inconsistency with what we saw earlier today against GT and what is happening against FSU.

And now Klempson just scored because of it.

FSU shot themselves in the foot and FSU look inept on offense again.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

ACC refs have been calling hot dogshit all year long. They don't call PI correctly, they can't spot a hold when it's right in front of them, their "targeting" calls are bullshit, and in general, they're just bad. The last couple of years weren't great, but this year is BAD.

Damn hate to see Corral get hurt like that

Corrall putting the mf team on his back

The shoe is lit tonight.

One of Ohio State's biggest defensive players just did a scoop and score. Pretty fast for a giant. He's been keeping up with his conditioning.

Henderson is an unreal good RB. I know he was "too big for VT," but I look forward to the day where those type of players want to come to VT again. What is so special about Columbus, Ohio?

They win and they produce a ton of NFL players.

The City is a gigantic butthole, the roads are perpetually under construction. Litter and trash everywhere. I guess that's paradise though?

Seriously though, good VA players could go to VT and be noticed and drafted. We need to give recruits like him a reason to come here again. I can't stand to see someone from in state go to a trash place like Columbus just because they think that's where big football is played.

Also, they win and they produce a ton of NFL players.

sounds like Tuscaloosa. I rolled through there on a road trip over the summer, and I begrudge the success of Alabama football a little less now. It's literally the only thing that area has that isn't falling apart

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Not even, there are areas around campus that are rough and then there are parts of Columbus where people are tripping over the money bags. For the most part the city has been on the rise and tons people have been flocking there for the better part of the last decade. It's by no means a run down city.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Columbus is a sprawling mass of a city not to mention parts of the Campus are not even in Columbus but Clinton Township. I'd like to compare the German Village or Short North or upper Arlington over any area in any city in Virginia

There are more professional sports teams located in Columbus than the entire state of Virginia.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Is that a negative or positive for you in recruiting? I think it's good.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Positive. I think only Chicago and New York are cities where pro sports are all that matters and college sports are unnoticed.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Ohio is a large state with a pre-meditated design to produce funding and rooting interests for their flagship. Columbus is in the center of a populous and relatively large state.

The pro sports towns are 3 hour drives away in the NE (CLE) and SW (CIN) corners. And all of their other major schools that would compete against them constitute the majority of one entirely insignificant but incredibly stable G5 conference (The MAC).

Cincinnati is the only school who won't play along, but getting ahead has been largely an uphill battle. Their first major attempt to go P5 failed (the Big East folded into the AAC, and was knocked down to G5 a year later).

UNC will need to win a tough game to make a bowl game this year need one from: Pitt, Wake Forest or NC State.

Let's hope it's Pitt

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

Let's hope it's not Pitt or any of the others. Not making it to a bowl with their recruiting might make recruits wonder about the coaching they're getting there...

BYU up 21-7 on LOLUVA with 3 minutes still left in the first quarter.

Penn State loses their third in a row :-)

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Defense seems optional in Provo tonight

Wasn't paying any attention to this game. Saw the post, check the score. Holy cow. 28-21 not even half way through the second quarter? Man you were not kidding.

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Armstrong is going to destroy our defense.

Agreed. Don't see that one ending well for us. Honestly I could see us winning the next three, getting some pro-Fu sentiment stirring, then we have an epic bed shitting against UVA to lose the division.

The trick will be keeping their offense off the field...Thomas and Blackshear should get 20 carries a piece...BYU ran for 385 yds on them tonight.

Loved how easily you could read Franklin's lips after his kicker missed that late field goal. "What the f**k was that??"

45-42 BYU with 13 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter this games gonna have over 150 points by the 4th

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Watching this game in Provo really makes me wish we had one of those offenses that feast on bad defenses

the numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster

Armstrong could have a broken rib. If that's the case, UVA is a lot more average.

Armstrong may have just broken a rib in the BYU game. ESPN showed him walking to the sideline and you could read his lips saying "It's broken" and pointing to his left ribs. And trainers took him immediately to the locker room.

I think ACC football is a tear in the fabric of time and space. It makes no goddamn sense. UVA literally had a chance to be 7-2 tonight and en route to a divisional championship. And it's ended by playing at BYU. Wtf is going on.

The biggest cost to UVA is going to be the loss of Brennan Armstrong. If he is out a significant amount of time... Well we saw after Armstrong went out that their backup QB is no Armstrong. Broken ribs are typically 3-6 weeks. Even if he come back on the early side of that, he probably won't be 100%. This game hurt UVA's chances going forward a LOT.

Agreed. Why the hell is UVA playing a game at BYU this late? It's just so weird

Probably because Bronco wanted a semi-big game, and wanted to play it after this team had some games under their belt.

Pretty clear to me they're playing BYU because Bronco used to coach there.

I wonder if we will see top 10 Wake?

#6, #9, and #10 all lost

Only rankings that matter now are on Tuesday. Unfortunately, those rankings are biased, so Wake will be 12th. 5 spots ahead of #MEEPMEEP

TKPhi Damn Proud
BSME 2009

8 ranked teams lost to lower or unranked opponents, 9 ranked teams lost. This is a great year!

Alabama:

The inner strength of knowing you got all the best recruits.

Don't you just love college football.

It's glorious.

It would be even better if there wasn't a playoff cloud sitting over the entire thing that every announcer had to reference back to every so often.

This is hilarious! Loffler gets kicked out of BG / Buffalo game! Quote from espn article;

Bowling Green, which was 0-4 in the Mid-American Conference, had a 28-23 lead over Buffalo when Loeffler was ejected.

In 18 minutes after Loeffler's ejection, Bowling Green scored more points than in any full game over the last two seasons.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Absolutely love to see UVA lose to BYU, giving up 66 points in the process.

My "Bronco is turning UVA into a carbon copy of BYU" theory is getting stronger by the day. If the teams switched jerseys at halftime I'm not sure anyone would have noticed for a few drives.
