I've never been able to stream ACCN or ACCNX through the ESPN App. It tells me it's not included in my provider subscription, but it is because I watch it through cable and we pay for it.
I've gotten the runaround from both ESPN and Verizon for the past 3 years, each blame each other. I know this has been an issue for others, there's Verizon forums and even a Clemson forum discussing it. Nobody has any solutions except to get rid of Fios.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

I haven't had an issue with FiOS cable and internet. If you're on your home WiFi, it works seamlessly with the app.
If you have the FiOS TV app, you can watch through your set top box, anywhere.
No it doesn't work on any device when connected to my FiOS wifi or another wifi or hotspot or data.
Set top box or verizon.tv don't help me watch ACCNX or if I want to watch a replay of a game like the bball game tonight.
I just started having this issue this season. I haven't found a solution to get the ESPN android app to work, but I did get it to work on the Roku app. I had to login to Verizon first and then start the activation code process on Roku or I got stuck shopping for a new Verizon plan.
If you could do it on one device and not another it may not be the same issue. I have it on every device.
I find it annoying that I cut (actually just reduced, and still have basic) cable, but even with paying for multiple streaming services I have trouble getting some games, as they STILL want to involve your local cable company.
Once upon a time I had hope that the rise of Netflix and other streaming services would bring us to a future where you could buy a basic sports package service that had everything you needed. I have given up that that future will ever come.
Nope, unfortunately they are just selling their cable packages as internet packages, bundling in dozens, if not hundreds, of channels no one ever watches to subsidize the couple dozen popular networks (namely sports). Further unfortunately is that what the customer wants is WAYYYY in the back in line, with everyone who can stand to make a profit at the front of the line.
Maybe your ESPN account isn't linked to your Fios account? That's the only thing I could think of.
No you have to log in to FiOS to watch anything. I can watch everything except for ACCN. SECN works fine. Replays are fine. Just not anything ACCN.

Fios is the better option overall (edit: for watching VT sports) since it includes both ACCN and your local RSNs. YTTV doesn't include RSNs, which is fine for those (like me) living outside the coverage area of the ACC's RSNs because I can just stream them from the ESPN app or website, but for those closer to home it means you'll have to find alternative means of watching a few games because ESPN blacks them out.
So I have run into this and my best guess is that is has something to do with the cache on the local device that you are streaming to. The fix is to forcefully terminate the app - e.g., on my iPhone I close the app entirely and restart. On my Fire Stick is restart the device. I can't say that is THE fix, but his has worked for me.
It's every device. Phone, computer, Roku, playstation, android tv. If I try on a brand new device it's the same result. I've deleted and redownloaded the app, same result.
I see... the only other thing I can suggest is to call verizon and find out what the deal is.
That's the plan. I've tried chatting with them and ESPN, not helpful.
i'm assuming you aren't doing anything unusual with your internet traffic like a VPN, content filtering, or DNS blackhole right?

For the game tonight, if you are in a blacked out area on cable/"fake cable" (youtube tv, etc), it seems as if the game will be available on ESPN+. I don't know if it will be blacked out there or not, but I can see it in my Hulu watching options.
I'm not blacked out. It's ACCNX so it should be available everywhere streaming as long as you pay for ACCN (I do). I don't get the blacked out message, I get the this channel is not available to you through your provider.
Probably not your problem, but i was checking my setup for tonight (NJ FIOS customer and i watch on my computer, or on my PS4 on my tv) and theres TWO listings on the WatchEspn webpage.....one for ESPN+ and one for ACCNX.....i initially didnt realize there were two and had clicked on the ESPN+ one first and was being asked for a login which i dont have.....once i switched to the ACCNX listing everything seems ready to go as usual.

So I got a Fubo login and am watching a replay of the game. This is an account issue not a device issue, hopefully I can keep this throughout the season.
I know the outcome and I'm still clapping and celebrating good plays. I'm so glad it's basketball season there are very few things in this world I love more than Hokie basketball.
I have the same problem with the ESPN app using my FiOS log in. I haven't found a fix either.
