VT announces new vaccine policy for indoor events

Look, I know this is a tricky subject here, but this is actual news that impacts people who wish to go to events at our school. Just want to make sure everyone is aware.

Upon entry to an indoor venue, ONE of the following will be required:

  • An official, government issued vaccination card listing the guest's name and dates the last dose was administered
  • A photo or digital version of an official government issued vaccination card listing the guest's name and dates the last dose was administered
  • A printed or digital negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 72 hours of the event that includes the guest's name and date the last test was taken
  • For guests with vaccine medical exemptions, proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test taken within 72 hours of the event that includes the guest's name and date the last test was taken
  • For Virginia Tech students, a valid Hokie Passport

Individuals who cannot provide proof of vaccination, proof of medical exemption or a valid negative COVID-19 test according to the conditions outlined above will not be allowed to enter a Tech Athletics indoor event.

Please be mindful of the CGs when discussing.

Good. That is all.

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

I will stay within the CGs and simply say, seconded.

I went to the football game @BC this year and they have a similar policy.

I will not comment about the policy itself, but I will say it was quick and easy to show proof and get it. It didn't affect the gameday experience (the team's performance did that).

Hey, I went to that game too.

... Fucking awful game. Lol. AND THEIR STADIUM SUCKS

Everywhere indoor place here in Seattle checks cards, as well as the stadiums, always quick and easy, fwiw

They definitely should have given more notice than 5 days notice for people that need testing and are going to the games this weekend. Hopefully everyone is able to make it work.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out. I am unvaccinated and currently have covid that I got from my boss who is vaccinated. He and his entire family have it. For me it is very mild. Two other guys at work who are unvaccinated that are in close proximity to him got it the same day I did. All mild but got it from him because he knew he had it but came to work anyway. I throw that out there so people can realize that it is not going to be a Cassell Coliseum of covid free people.

If the vaccine doesn't stop the spread why is it required???

@Alum07 - thanks for the PSA. No need to discuss this further.

Just don't do what I did and get your booster on the exact same day you get infected..

Definitely not fun, and to think I was super close to getting the flu vaccine at the same time (which my insurance somehow but thankfully did not cover at Walgreens).
