His 247 profile has him with three years of eligibility and a redshirt if wanted. Says he was a slot reciever for UNC. Joins his little brother at Tech, adds an option to the thin WR room. Wins all around!

Mine too. I don't think the "win ceiling" has increased much (6, stretch 7) but the probability distribution is shifting more toward 6 wins for me rather than 4-5 wins.

Don't forget how bad the offense was last year. It will be improved just by virtue of having a QB who can actually complete passes downfield - the receiving talent has taken a clear step back but we weren't utilizing that talent last year anyway. That's not even getting into the coaching and scheme improvements I expect which I think are obvious to our entire fanbase.
On the defensive side, it's still more or less the same team coming back as well, though there could be hiccups learning a new scheme. But an impact transfer or 2 on the DL could result in improvement there as well.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I have to keep reminding myself that the rebuild takes time. Personally I think we may surprise some people next year, however even if Pry goes and wins the coastal what does that mean big picture wise? We've seen that from our last coach in his first year and we know how it ended. It's going to take a few years. But we're Hokie fans man, no matter how many times we get let down we can always get hyped up for the next season!

Big picture is TOTALLY different because Fuente had Beamer players and Pry will have more of players that he has brought in. Not sure if it will pay dividends in year one but if he stays on the course he is on, year 2 and beyond start to trend higher.

This is not my expectation by any means, but Pry winning the coastal his first year would be significantly different than Fuente. Don't get me wrong Fuente winning the coastal was a good coaching job (brought in Evans, got the most out of a roster with some solid contributors, took care of the other competitors in the division). However, Pry winning the coastal would be a much taller task given the state of this roster.

Seems like a really cerebral player. Overachiever all his life. Lots of workmanlike qualities. Great instincts. Lots of intangibles. Does the little things right. The yes sir yes ma'am type.

But seriously,

This feels like a parallel universe. I'm so used to seeing players transfer from Tech. It's great to see that flow reverse

Came to remark on the brother connection, nice get!
Benji at Tight End
Stephen in the slot
Kaleb Smith at Y
Blue at X
I love it - let's go Hokies
Let's go get some depth
Feel like Payoute has to get in their somehow
And Lofton and Jones
Yes to Payoute, Lofton, Jones and More...Under Pry its called Depth and Next Man up
I wonder if little bro is happy
Apparently I get to keep using it: ALL the brothers!
I like it. We need to put a championship ring on it.
Hell yeah we do!
Plus athlete but I want to pair expectations a little. He has work to do to be a contributor.
pare
Autocorrect will get after ya
I think Rosรฉ is a nice pair for expectations. I'm no connoisseur, though
I read somewhere he was playing slot at UNC, but his better position is probably outside. Outside of that I know almost nothing about the kid.
Live look at Stephen
Welcome aboard. ๐
Promised myself I wouldn't do this, but my expectations for next year are starting to rise. Another good get!
Starting to feel better about beating ODU in Norfolk this time at least
Don't jinx it.

My guess for next year at this point is a slight improvement on the offensive side of the ball, and a slight regression on the defensive side.

Gives me real Willie Byrn, Danny Coale, and CJ Carroll vibes.
A real Wes Welker, Julien Edelman type
First guy in, last guy out?
Very deceptive speed too I'm sure.
"Snell" is German for fast, so technically his last name is Gofast.
Just sayin'.
big film junkie, gym rat, guy just gets it
His great-great grandfather was a coach.
His mudda was a mudda?
LOVES the slop
