Deangelo Hall hired as Carolina Panthers DB coach

Interesting to see Hall leave the broadcast booth at this point.

This piece is key. Panthers have nearly 20 people on their coaching staff. Jonathon Cooley is their 'Secondary/Cornerbacks' coach, and D Hall is their 'Assistant Defensive backs' coach. Not sure what this means from a responsibility standpoint.

Regardless, always great to have another Hokie in a spot like this.

As long as it has "NFL" in it.

Good luck DeAngelo. Wishing you the best.

I think the booth can be tough for a lot of guys. Coaching is a lot more of a hands on style of staying in the game. I'm not shocked that DHall still wants to be "in it."

He was not a good announcer. At all. I don't know if it will work out for him as a coach, but I didn't envision a long stint in the radio booth.

Got anything good to see on these boards, Marc?

Vroom Vroom

Interesting that your lone observation in this post is negative, whereas only one of my two observations was negative.

Nevertheless, my apologies that my criticism of his announcing skills wasn't on the lengthy keyplay approved criticisms list.

well, you are good at criticism. You're less good at constructive criticism, which can be improved with word choice, hedging, and mixing criticism with accolades.

Why are people downvoting an opinion? I mean it's not as if being a good or bad announcer isn't quite subjective and people can have different opinions about one - even if the announcer in question is a Hokie.

They shouldn't be. Marc has just had a recent spree of negativity that has rubbed many people wrong.

He is basically TKP's own Debbie Downer.

I thought that was DC? Do we have a competition going on? :)

It alternates.

I've never seen them in the same room together, have you?

Relatively....
We're all still basking in the glories of 1999 and a handful of 2000's teams that didn't quite go as far as they should have.
Marc's negative posting has been a short period compared to that.

Good shit, go hokies

The first time I saw this, it was reported that he was going to be "Carolina's DB Coach", and I thought they meant North Carolina, and I was like...
