Worth the watch:
- Hasn't worked much with Pry but they have a lot of mutual connections (as we say on LinkedIn)
- Lots of shifting linemen around - looking for the best unit; not the best 5 players
- Spending a lot of time on just snapping the ball
- Says we need to get at least 7-8 players on the line - 5 starters, back up center, and a couple of swing tackles - both for depth reasons and competition.
I dunno, he just seems like a VT kind of guy.

Thanks for posting. I have only found the time to watch part of it, but I figured it would be a good watch.
I know zilch about playing OL, but I find this refreshing. I feel like we're always "trying to get the best 5 guys on the field" with no real focus on how they operate as a unit.
100% agree. NFL doesn't do that, why should we
He has an OL coach kind of name, and that means he's going to be good.
You all can relax now. The Beard has spoken.
That was very conversational and not as much coach speak. I'm ok with this.
"Kicked the same dirt" is a great phrase from Pry.
Damn before his first response he shouts out the Women's Basketball team... absolutely love that.
"Not nearly as hard as what our women's basketball team has been doing..."
I like this guy already.
Glad to hear Andy asking a lot of questions.
Spending a lot of time on just snapping the ball
Thank you, Jesus!
Also from yesterday:
More summary from the above video and the video in the OP. Not sure how much of this is old news vs new news, but it was new to me:
TL;DR: Hypetrain onward.
From my understanding of French's OL breakdowns, zone blocking can emphasize stretching the defense horizontally to widen gaps/running lanes, or knocking them on their ass and getting more "vertical" or up the field. I think the former is better for wide zone and the latter is probably more ideal for inside zone. I'm encouraged hearing this because inside zone has been a staple running play of the Moorhead/Bowen offense. It sounds like we have a good match between OC and OL coach.
Man, I want all of this to work out for the best. These coaches all seem like great people, and they certainly say all of the right things. I'm just hoping it translates on the field and in recruiting. Time will tell
I'm sold. He fits.
*And if our offense doesn't score points* "He's just hiring his buddies, what ever happened to getting the best man for the job"
accurate
and it would be wrong because the whole point of the conversation with a mutual connection was because they had never worked together before and actually weren't buddies
how often have people on here (myself included) respected actual facts when complaining about the state of things?
His buddies buddies then
Everybuddy is somebuddy's buddy.
You're not my buddy, guy
More like Crook: "You're not my buddy, Pry!"
I see what you did there...
Nobody but bitter allowed to ask questions? lol
