Hammerin Hokies complete the sweep of Rhode Island at 1pm

Hokies won game 1 on Friday 18-3 behind a Ben Watson barrage at the plate.

Carson Demartini homered again along with several other Hokies.

Hammer was back as well with the spot just off the field.

Game 2 was a bit closer at a 7-2 final. Long ball again was prevalent with FOUR homeruns.

Hokies just started the sweep game at 1pm.

The sledgehammer is allowed now?

Apparently is. Last year they skirted it by stepping off the field but these shots appear to be on the field.

Is the infield and base paths/"dirt" all field turf?

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Yeah. I can't remember if the mound is dirt or not but everything else is turf

All turf outside the mound and possibly the batters box. Not sure on the batters box at this point.

Batters box is turf.

Warning track is turf but has a slightly different feel, but basically pointless. It's not like going from grass to dirt.

Outfield too then. Call me a purist, but I like the dirt basepaths. is there a dirt warning track? if not how does it actually warn the OF while tracking a ball?
